That is destroying the entire point of growing in a hydro medium:nonono:
you are supposed to use cocos ferts and add those to the water.
then either use a drip-system or hand water daily with 10% runoff.

Yeah.
or rather: just don't use time release.
Organic ferts could work and hydro nutes too.

How well would a seaweed based fertilizer work for this? Such as seasol.

That'd probably work.
What plants is this for?
Just thinking: watch the pH at all times.
Check the run-off pH from time to time.

you dont need coir specific nutes, but you do need a properly balanced feeding regime.

coir is naturally loaded with K. Over applying K, to coir, can lock out Ca+ Mg+ and sometimes N. A lot of times (depending on source water) Cal Mag supplements are needed.

A lot of people dont understand proper feeding regimes, and how the different elements can interact with each other, if out of balance. That is why so many people suggest coco specific. You could get away with a poorly designed fertilizing regime in soil, but not in coco

I use chunky sunleaves piece coir. automatic watering 4x a day.
