blue foot help
    #7431613 - 09/20/07 10:18 AM (16 years, 4 months ago)

okay so i have been wanting to work with a wood loving strain for a long time and a buddy of mine just gave me a couple handfulls of colonized wood from "the mother tree" anyway i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what i should do with it...from what i have read once the myc has established itself on the wood there is no need to sterilize any more wood is that correct? and if i do spawn it to more wood do i need to soak it first? also what temps should i incubate at....maybe i should look around some more before i go posting this stuff, but i have the slowest connection in the universe. anyway any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

there is no need to sterilize any more wood is that correct? YES IT WILL KILL THE MYCELIUM IN THE PC..TRY SPAWNING IT TO SOMETHING ELSE LIKE MORE WOOD CHIPS EITHER OAK, ALDER, ASH, BIRCH...YOU DONT WANT OILS IN YOUR WOOD..I'D MIST THE COLONIZED SUBSTRATE (WOOD) WITH WATER...DEPENDS ON WHAT WATER THOUGH...IF YOU LIVE WHERE YOUR REGULAR TAP WATER IS CRAPPY...USE DISTILLED....80-82 FOR MYCELIAL GROWTH....

WHAT STRAIN IS IT?

all i know is it is bluefoot. okay i am confused, i know not to pc the colonized wood, but what im asking is i dont need to sterilize anymore wood for bulk spawn do i? and do i need to hydrate the new  wood?

should i just mix it with new chips in a tub and continue to ad wood chips as it colonizes further and further....i only have a chunk of colonized wood that is about the size of one dried brick of coir, so i am imagining i  shouldnt add to much wood at first is that correct?

thanks:thumbup:
