The TRIPPIEST Beatles song.

For me it would have to be "It's All Too Much".
I listened to it on mushrooms and there are so many weird sounds in that song especially towards the end.
And theres some backmasking. "We are Dead...(gibberish)" and "Too much-ah" makes me thing its saying something different backwards.
Other good ones for me are "Norweigan Wood", "Baby youre a Rich Man" and "Hey Bulldog".

Wish this would have made it onto a Beatles album...
It was recorded at George Harrison's apartment along with a number of other demos as prospective songs for The White Album.

That's a tough call. I would say it's between "Tomorrow Never Knows", "Strawberry Fields Forever" or "I Am The Walrus". But ask me tomorrow and I might have a different answer. There are so many that could be considered the most trippy. I guess it just depends on your definition of the word.

Because - Sun King (for 'trippiness') I also like the continuation of that, but it's not as good to me as the first three parts
I don't know how I forgot Fool on the Hill>Flying>Blue Jay Way>Your Mother Should Know, but that's killer too, as is Across the Universe, Hello Goodbye, A Day in the Life (except the crazy part at the end), Octopus's Garden, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, I Want You (can be very intense, just from the music), and I Me Mine
when I was tripping mush every weekend back a couple of years ago, my buddy and I would always have about the same set of Beatles songs in the playlist every time

Good picks Dan. Very good. "Within You Without You" is my favorite Beatles song too.
Here's one of The Beatles most trippy unreleased tracks. I have an interview where Lennon later laments that this track was never released on any album. It's called "What's The New Mary Jane". It's definitely one of the most psychedelic, if not the most psychedelic Beatles song. I like at the end where you hear John say "Let's hear it before we get taken away", which I always took to mean that he wanted to hear what they had just finished recording at that moment because he had just recently taken LSD and was starting to become swept away by it's effects.

It is belived that the song was influenced by Syd Barrett, the early leader of Pink Floyd, who were recording at Abbey Road Studios at the same time as The Beatles in 1967. A long-standing legend states that Barrett actually appeared on and co-wrote the track, leading to the song's tenuous inclusion on many Pink Floyd bootlegs. However, nobody who was actually present at the recording has ever corroborated this.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned, but "Love You To" from Revolver is pretty trippy with it's kind of weird oriental sonority.

it stars saddam said: I can't believe no one has mentioned Revolution 9. That track makes my skin crawl.
I just don't like it. I like what it was trying to do, but I just don't enjoy it
I don't recommend listening to it on 5g of mushrooms, I'll say that.
lol... I've listened to the entire white album on more than 5 grams and I agree revolution number 9 isn't an easy one to get through. you take the fact that the song seems to go on and on, shrooms seem to make things go on longer, and the record player i was using needed a new belt really bad so every minute worth of music took about 1 minute 20 seconds the song just lasted forever, still a great album to trip with regardless.
however my original suggestion of white album/abbey road i decided against although i have tripped with both and enjoyed myself thoroughly.
I changed my mind because a little over a year ago i was having all sorts of mystical magical experiences with Sgt. peppers.
during a 13 g trip, i became convinced that the whole album was about the Beatles involvement with the Illuminati and the shaping of the world and was completely subliminal messages to those who could hear it. first was Sgt. peppers and with a little help form my friends (which took me into wonder years mode for a few seconds), but then Lucy in the sky came on thats when i started to realize it all, it was clear to me that the song was about tripping so from there on out i looked for messages in all the music on the rest of the album and being that i was tripping i could hear and understand the messages.
getting better came on next which is where i started to consider the Illuminati connection, and every time they were singing "it's getting better all the time" i thought they were talking about the world which they controlled using some form of magic and that they were working on making it better for us everyday (for some reason all i could picture was that early ipod commercial with Paul and had some super heavy apple visuals (Beatles recorded on apple for a while and the mac symbol is an apple which was surely a sign to me that i was right even though there's no logic in that thought).
when fixing a hole came on i thought they were talking about fixing the worlds problems for us and they were on the light side of the Illuminati like its some Jedi/Sith organization.
when within you without you came on well as anyone who knows the song knows, it's lyrics are pretty cosmic and have a great message without psychedelics, with shrooms it only made the feeling stronger and the music was absolutely mind blowing.
when I'm 64 really spoke to me because Paul had just turned 64 a week earlier and that was surely a sign that this message was for me because i was the only one hearing the real message.
then lovely Rita came on which i understood Rita to be the force taking a toll on me (mushrooms in this case) for the knowledge they had bestowed upon me, but i loved the experience thats what makes Rita so lovely.. It's all a bit hazy as are most thing while shroomin, but certainly one of my more mystical experiences I've had, the album gave me power beyond my wildest dreams to fix everything wrong with the world and i was to take over and start with a new generation because the half the Beatles are dead and the other half are getting too old.
the whole album had tons of things like this these are just a few examples as i said it's all a bit hazy..
this experience (of having a tremendous power to fix the world) carried into other albums from the night the next album was an american prayer (Jim Morrison with music by the doors, not an actual doors album) which to me seemed to be more messages from the Illuminati only this album seemed very middle eastern and ritualistic i was ready to start making human sacrifices on an altar that i had started planning out with masks, robes, torches and the works... but thats for another day....
all in all it was a pretty crazy night.

How about "Hey Bungalow Bill"
WTF is THAT song about?
Quote:
Hey, Bungalow Bill What did you kill, Bungalow Bill? Hey, Bungalow Bill What did you kill, Bungalow Bill?
He went out tiger hunting with his elephant and gun In case of accidents he always took his mom He's the all American bullet-headed Saxon mother's son All the children sing
Hey, Bungalow Bill What did you kill, Bungalow Bill? Hey, Bungalow Bill What did you kill, Bungalow Bill?
Deep in the jungle where the mighty tiger lies Bill and his elephants were taken by surprise So Captain Marvel zapped in right between the eyes, zap! All the children sing
Hey, Bungalow Bill What did you kill, Bungalow Bill? Hey, Bungalow Bill What did you kill, Bungalow Bill?
The children asked him if to kill was not a sin "Not when he looked so fierce", his mummy butted in If looks could kill it would have been us instead of him All the children sing

as for yellow submarine near the end of a trip, thats an excellent thing to do. I've done it on at least 3 occassions (twice on acid, once on shrooms that i recall), fire up a nice bowl of nugs and pop it in...
i also was at a rave about 7 years ago where they had the video playing on a big wall (no sound) with a strobe light pulsing under it, it's definitely enjoyable with some mdma too...
