i have 4 cakes right now. 2 been their for 3 weeks and 2 been their for 3 days. the 3 week ones are moving so fuckin slow i dont know if their doin anything at all. and the 3 day ones i havent seen a thing from. they are all pink buffalo. i dont get it but they have like a week or so to improve themselves, because i have 4 quart jars of rye ready to be inoculated as soon as i get my mexi-cube syringe. temp inside is 74-76 degrees. normal double tub incubator inside a trash bag. the only positive is there is no sign of contam but im startin to think it could be cobweb. but ill wait a week or so before callin it quits on the half pint brf jars.

3 days isn't long at all it takes at least that long for the spores to germinate, it'll take til at least day 5 to see growth sometimes even longer...
3 weeks isn't all taht long either i've had BRF cakes colonizing for almost 2 months before complete... if they do stall just take them out cut off the uncolonized area and crumble and case..
easy as pie...
patience is the hardest part of this hobby, learn it well, cause otherwise you'll go crazy.

pics!!! and 3 day is to early to tell with lc it takes around 4 days to be visible and with spores it takes 3 to 5 days to germinate.
and my suggestion for the older jars is to take a pic an then put the jars in the incubator and don't look at them for a week them take them out and compare them to the pics you may not notice any difference from day do day!! also if the don't do any progress just take them out of the jars and remove the uncolonized part and dunk/roll to fruit!

im actually using a sharpie right now and outlining where mycelium is to see if it moves any and id be cutting about 90% off one cake and about 93% off another i really feel it has to do with my temp sometimes its as low as 70 im getting a new heater mine dosent even have a temp knob its just automatic. and also i have been keeping the lid on my incubator the whole time which could be a problem with the gas exchange so i flipped all the cakes removed the lid and put them back in the trash bag hopefully that will help. also i had two sheets layin on top of jars and condensation was pretty thick and the sheets had that beggining mildew smell, i immediately removed them and fanned out the incubator.

many people it takes 2-3 attempts and 5-6 months of trying before ever seeing fruits.. the key is patience, paying attention to the details you read about, and uber cleanliness
