I agree, but do you see how in some videos the police are three deep around the man before he even says one word? They were breathing down his neck. You only see it in a couple vids. To me thats intimidating. It's like having attack dogs sitting there unleashed waiting for a command.

Try and exercise some discernment. The kid wanted exactly what happened (do some research on his history of attention whoring). We have freedom of expression, but that doesn't mean we are protected from being regulated when our expression is no longer constructive or welcome in the forum we're expressing ourselves in. Why do you think the crowd cheered when the cops grabbed the idiot? I am of course free to go into work today and call my boss a fat smelly pig. I can't be prosecuted for doing that. I can however be forcefully removed from the premises, have my job taken away, and if I resist my removal, further consequences loom.
The idiot wasn't following the form of the discussion. He was trying to ask multiple questions, trying to make his own rules and he got shut down, then he tried to make a scene on purpose. This is exactly what he wanted. Now he can play the little victim even though he doesn't know how good he's got it in Skull & Bones land.

This type of thought train is exactly the problem with America my friend. All too often we succumb to what Society deems as appropriate behavior, regardless if this behavior is contradictory to our constitutional rights. We have the freedom of expression guarenteed to us in our Ammendments, why not exercise this right?
To not do so is an atrocity my friend. Remember the 3 R's: Resist, Rebel, Revolt.
Resist, Rebel, and Revolt? Are you fucking kidding me? Why? You don't just say shit like that, have a fucking reason to back it up.
I don't see what that "train of thought" has to do with society at fucking all. If you haven't figure it out yet, genius, most of the people support the kid, not the cops. So "society" backs up the whiny fuckface. There's a difference between this being an infringement on rights, and a fucking annoying waste of time. They got a minute and a half (I believe) to ask ONE question. This kid went over his time AND asked more questions than he was alloted, he broke the fucking rules, and reasonable rules at that. He deserved what he got.

I'll agree the kid was looking for attention and publicity. In anycase though, were the rent a cops not bombarding him and crowding the kid, we may of actually seen intelligent questions and answers.
He must of felt uncomfortable with all the cops around him, I know I would have. He just wanted to finish his line of questioning.
Not to mention, Kerry was attempting to answer his questions on how Bush fucked America once again in '04.
Florida + Anti Bush Questions = Censorship.

If you cannot see how freedom of speech and society relate, you need to rethink your views my friend. Obviously everyone is going to support the kid, the problem is it's an unending line of censorship and mishap with Florida, this is not the first incident like this.

And no, that's not what I said. I see how they relate, I don't see what moon_glue said has to do with society or anything like that. The kid was being a cunt and not following the forum rules, it's really as fucking simple as that.
Both parties (the cops and the kid) overreacted, but please, the cops aren't "evil fucking pigs" here, they acted like human beings.

Obviously their not all pro Bush, but Florida is a Republican, Bible belt state. I put very little trust in a system, that has such little intelligence. The kid was out of line, absolutely, as were the police. I just hope incidents like this serve as a lesson to the state, as opposed to fading into history in a week.

Ding! We have a winner! It amazes me how quickly people jump up to defend this kid without having researched what actually happened. They watch the 30 second edited youtube clip and scream bloody murder, police brutality, etc. Watch the entire ten minutes, without the creative editing, and you can see the kid got exactly what he deserved. This is why people in the audience clap when the police start to remove him. They saw the whole thing, not the 30 to 90 seconds of video that has been showing up on youtube. It is cool to have an opinion, one way or the other, but at least base the opinion off of facts of the entire situation rather than off of the last few seconds of video.
The guys lucky they didn't beat him up. Bruises last for days...the pain of a stun gun only lasts as long as they have the trigger pulled. In the old days, before cell-phones with video cameras and youtube, they would have gotten a few good hits in.
I'm not saying that's right, I'm just saying he got what he deserved.

He was charged with trying to incite a riot. A lot of innocent people would have gotten hurt if he started a riot just because he is a attention whore cry baby acting like a 12 year old. Not cool at all. The kid deserved to tased 100%, fucking trying to start a riot getting people hurt over this stupid non sense.

The kid was being a retard, the police over-reacted. They didn't need to taser him, but he was definitely out of line. I'm in Gainesville where it happened. The UPD carry guns, they have more power then normal cops here and they know it. They are the ones who will write you a ticket for going 3mph over a 20mph speed limit on a bike. On the other hand, the kid was acting like an idiot in front of a national icon and deserved it. Its a little of both.

Watched the long version, too. Fuck that shit. Let the man have his say.
The question period was over before he got to the front of the line. Everyone else in line ahead of him was sitting down like normal people. None of them had a chance to ask their question either, but they didn't behave like animals over it.
Then the guy was asked to leave the building and he refused. Instead he kept rushing toward the stage and the microphone.
The reason he was tased and arrested was because he refused to leave after being told to and because he resisted the cops moving him toward the door, not because he asked the wrong question.
Does anyone care about the facts any more or is denouncing the police regardless of the facts the correct sheep reaction now every time someone throws a hissy fit and has to be arrested?

That kid has had a history of trying to get attention on campus. This time he got international attention, which I think is outrageous.
Michael Moore came my freshman year and I heard groups of people brought signs, everyone was heckling him, and there were kids painted up for him.
I should've gone to that one. I saw Ron Jeremy argue with a feminist dyke here and that was pretty entertaining.

Diploid, I think it more comes down to a matter of how the situation was handled, then the situation itself. The kid was subdued in the back and the police tasered him repeatedly, that was unnecessary, and a wee bit of overkill. There is absolutely no need for that type of violence, especially considering it was not a violent situation until the campus police made it such.
Meyers was using his freedom of speech, maybe to an unacceptable extent. Regardless, the police seriously over-reacted, and that is the issue.

This isn't accurate.
The kid was not subdued. He was struggling with the cops who warned him if he continued he'd be tased. He continued and was tased. Once.
Meyers was using his freedom of speech
This has nothing to do with speech. The question period was over. He could have left when asked and continued to rant his free speech all he liked outside. The owners of the building asked him to leave, not to shut up.
Instead of leaving, he repeatedly rushed toward the stage. The police had no choice but to stop him. That's what they're for: stopping people who are breaking the rules.
The police TRIED to simply walk him out (instead of arresting him) several times. The guy kept fighting and rushing the stage instead of leaving. He escalated the situation. All the cops did was keep up.
