Hpoo--what next

i know i'm suppose to search the previous posts until my heart bleeds, and i do. but...i've just collected some fresh hpoo less than two hours ago, i've got 11 pf (brf) jars about to be fully colonized and i need to know how to make use of the hpoo. how long can hpoo be stored? what's the best way to store it? do i sterilize it the same way i did the pf jars? do i need to use a pc to sterilize the hpoo? can i put chunks of colonized brf into the hpoo to make it colonize? do i mix the hpoo substrate with verm and kelp? or is it better/ more beneficial to use the fresh hpoo as a casing layer? do i need to compost the hpoo? how does composting go? by the way, Spirit has been feeding on dry straw alone and her poo has a lot of dry straw mixed in it, is it still okay to use?

I dunno where you we're reading but the answers to all of those questions are out there.
Any way, if your h-poo is fresh (like still smelly and wet) you cant use it. Not any time soon that is.
You want to collect old dried stuff. It looks like little balls of straw, and will be somewhat golden in color. Also very light, if its somewhat heavy, it could still be too fresh. Its good to go collecting after it hasn't rained for a while. That way the poo is ready for storage, no further drying required. It also helps you judge how ready the poo is by the texture and weight.
The smell is another good indicator, it should smell like dirt or compost, really earthy.
peace and good luck!

Yes separate it. The fresh stuff will do you no good. It needs to be leeched and dried first. If you want to spend weeks hosing it down, then dry it thoroughly you can do that too. I would never bother though, just collect it properly aged and dried from the field. If you own a horse it should be no trouble finding some old stuff.

check out quake3s journal http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/6766065/an/0/page/0
theres tons of good informative links in there. it looks like you have a lot of reading to do if you're asking questions about using hpoo as a casing layer.
