well shit it seems the homestead e-z grow producer doesnt mind much for legality then. its widely advertised in high times so i figured he'd be a bit more careful.

that upside is that his website states that spores are legal in the whole of the u.s. because they dont actually contain any psilocybin yet but doesnt specify anything about those states that they are illegal in. georgia california and ohio right? well i ive in georgia and it seems like homestead is my only source for spores. my fear is only that this will be exploited and not available anymore. i wouldnt like him to get busted, he was always EXTREMELY fast in replying emails for help (it was almost like instant messaging back and forth), and even offered me a full refund after i informed him of the less than par results. he seemed pretty nice.

My sister used the kit since she lives somewhere it is impossible to get all the supplies needed for PF Tek (Seriosly - VERM isn't sold on the entire island). So, sounds similar to your no spores issue. Now, she thought a one time shot, already set up, would help her decide if this hobby was for her. The first kit grew fine until it was transferred to the compost where it got a NASTY bacterial contamination. So, asking them to follow up on the guarantee, she was told that the slimy yellow crap was ok, and was ignored. After 3 or 4 attempts at contact and almost a month later, (and a strong request for SOME kind of response) she was told the guarantee was to grow mushrooms. So, after requesting the replacement kit, she waited again. when it came, a letter was enclosed saying the kit didn't come with more compost - so if she tossed it she was SOL. SO, long story short, she had no compost, ended up casing the kit in verm, and got 1" PE's.
She also tried PF tek after 4 months of dealing with Homestead and no success... WAY better results, and less than the $120 for the kit, including the price of shipping all her supplies!!
Just my opinion though - if you are concerned with spores, why don't you try to find someone to anonymously send a print to your home? Either it makes it or no, right? No more risk than your name on a kit with spores included!

well it sounds like your sister had quite a lot of trouble with the company. i really couldnt have been more pleased when them as far service goes. new management maybe? then again i didnt have any contamination problems.
the fuckers did take 3 weeks from pin to veil break though.

i am concerned with spores and i honestly just dont know how to go about finding someone willing to send me some. i figure posting the request in the forum would be a dumb idea and likely to warrant a few ill words. that and everyone knows its illegal and people here seem to be pretty responsible. i dont see any reason why someone would risk the law just to help out an anonymous stranger. well i do see reason but all depends on a persons generosity

ive seen that kit before but wasnt sure about growing in a bag. what kind of yield do you get off of a kit like that? it could be my last resort, being in a state where spores are illegal, so im going to have to agree with elcharrosays here and keep up my google search.

I bought a bag kit but I took the compost out of its bag and put it in a plastic tub. Then after the mycelium was done on the rye I mixed it into the tub. Almost done but results are fantastic so far.
