A Quick Question

I am a long time lurker first time poster, so this question may seem a bit obvious to any veteran but please bear with me. I am wondering if injecting two different strains of spores into the same jar or grow bag would result in the two species competing for dominance. Would this increase psycilocybin levels in the dominant species? Would it result in some sort of hybrid? Or would they just peacefully coexist.

I think the healthier will overgrow the other.

Okay, but will the stuggle between the two result in higher psyilocybin levels than normal. I guess I am wondering if it will be like a forced natural selection thing. Where I can force one to adapt by growing larger or higher content by forcing competition between the two.
If anyone has attempted anything similar I would be really interested in some first hand testimonials. My things will be arriving in a week or so.

Each strain will treat each other like a contam and try to fight with with excessive metabolites being the result. My guess, is that it will colonize, but I think you'll get a lot of metabolites.
Try it!

Thanks for the info man, I don't really know if it's something I want to get into on my first attempt. It was just a question I came up with in bio lecture while we were talking about niches and natural selection. I was curious as to whether or not it had been attempted.

One way to create hybrid strains would be with single-spore isolates. Dilute your syringes down, then grow out single spores on agar. Find one from each strain that have the growth characteristics you desire, then mate them. Resulting dikaryon should share the properties of the parental monokaryons.
But I don't think that's going to increase potency. Short of cloning after laboratory analysis, I don't think you're going to find a way to do that. If you want to trip harder, just grow more.
