just loosen the lid a tiny bit. in fact, the inoculation holes give the jars all the air they need

well I didnt use lids just foil

but when they ar ein the tub/tub incubator the lid is on

so just leave it on?

or take it off once in a while and fan it?

or is that a no no and inviting contams to float in and land?

maybe oust the air then fan a very lil?

or just leave it be?

I also read somewhere about maybe flipping them over after a few days or weeks

Actually, for the pf tek jars, you don't need air exchange (FAE). What you're looking for is gas exchange. As long as you have holes in the foil or lids, which you do, then the gases will more than likely have enough room to escape. As long as you've got the 1/2-3/4" level of dry verm on top, you should be ok to lift the lid of the foil on your jars. However, I personally wouldn't risk it right now. Just let them go as they are, with the holes in the foil, and see how they colonize. Assuming all steps were done correctly, you shouldn't have any problems with your setup. Sometimes people who use the lids with the jars, will turn the cake/jar upside down to assist in the gas exchange. If you do decide to turn your jars over, be sure to hold the foil on tight so it doesn't dump out all over the place! Good luck
