WTF how is this possible?
    #742361 - 07/12/02 05:10 PM (21 years, 7 months ago)

I got a nice fat B+ mushroom growing on the side of my mycobag. Its growing from the plastic bag not the cake! Its the only mushroom in the bag, theres none of the cake. How the hell is this thing getting nutrients and resources!?!?! Its getting bigger with each day.

This happends a lot actually. My guess would be that the mycelium acts as a network feeding itself, and as long as the stuff on the bag is still connected to the rest the mushroom will mature. It is just like a mushroom growing directly off the geolite in a pod. I have a cake right now that didn't have one fruit on the cake but all of them were on the geolite. Now this I thought was weird. My guess is the cake was to dry, but who knows.

In a terraium in a galaxy far far away, sometimes the geolite will grow mycelium on it, and though they are an inch or so from the cake, you can always find a strand going back to the cake. A shroom or two usually always pops up from them, but they never get real big.
