Am I screwed???

I injected 3cc each into 3 small grain mycobags on 9/12/07. It has now been 6 days and I have yet to see ANY signs of growth. Even the bags, which are said to "fluff" up and expand due to gas exchange show no sign of doing so.
Is it too soon to assume I received a dead/non-viable syringe or should I contact the vendor for a possible replacement?
No myc. growth makes me a sad panda IRL.

1. Did you hang your bags up to reinflate them? 2. I would wait about a week more. They just take a while sometimes.

1. I "fluffed" them up when I received the bags. I then injected at a steep angle so the solution seeped down the bag inside. I stood them up nicely on a closet shelf and puffed the top of the bags to ensure gas exchange.
2. I was afraid of that. I guess I'm mostly concerned that waiting too long before contacting the vendor (Lil' Shop of Spores) would invalidate any claim for replacement.
EDIT: I shook the needle up very vigorously to ensure the spores were distributed.

arnt you sposed to put the needle in left then right so the spores spread out, not down right?

acommunistspy said: yea did you allow air to go into the bag? you gotta hang the bag up and allow air to go in through the filter. yea no worries bro, it should start soon. temperature could play a big factor.. what's the temperature where the bags are?
mine's been 5 days and 1 shows pretty good growth, 1 shows tiny tiny tiny growth but i'm not sure if it's condensation. the other one shows no growth at all.
If you got the syringe from a sponser, it should be viable and good. you should see growth soon good luck.
When you say "hang the bag", should I pin the bags to the hanger pole in the closet and let them dangle freely? I merely fluffed them up and puffed the bags out so they stood straight up.
The temperate outside the closet is around 72-74 degrees, a couple more inside. I'd estimate no higher than 78 degrees in the closet at any time.
I've peeked in a couple of times to see SOMETHING but there are absolutely no signs of growth or bag expansion.

No droplets observed.
Yeah, I knew I definitely had to have the bags sit fully "open" so the patch could provide gas exchange. Does hanging the bags prove more beneficial to colonization than what I've done?
I got the spores from Lil' Shop Of Spores.

hanging the bag just makes it inflate by drawing in air through the patch.
like said, just an easy way to inflate the bag before inoc.

UPDATE:
Day 7...still absolutely NO sign of development.
Luckily, I emailed Lil' Shop of Spores and explained my problem. Within an hour of emailing them, I got a response and they are sending a replacement syringe.
Just that level of customer commitment ALONE makes the sting of disappointment fade away. I hope this second syringe works out, friends!
...as a side question:
At this point, all three small grain mycobags show NO signs of growth NOR contamination. With this in mind, would it be feasible to reinoculate the same 3 bags with the new syringe or are they junked?

The vendors always provide excellent customer service. Its a pleasure dealing with them. Even though you can't see any contamination its possible that they are in fact contaminated. Definitely start with new bags. Make sure you inflate these new ones. You'll notice fast colonization times.

I might get another bag or two and inoculate all of them. LSoS is sending the syringe tomorrow.

I got a rye grain bag once and nothing ever grew in it .. I used an LC with healthy mycelium that grew in grain jars but OTC rye bag did nothing.. I am going to open and reboil the rye and PC and use some oyster shrooms, that I plan to grow on AGAR .then add a wedge of agar to the rye in the bag.. . thanks grey for the oyster spores. sometimes something is wrong and they don't want to grow for some reason try try again

Yeah...I got the replacement syringe today and found a good omen...
The syringe already started some mycelia threading. It's almost like a syringe LC...which is exactly what I started with it. I banged up both honey water and a small bottle of pasteurized 100% apple juice (thanks to my daughter for her contribution). Both are sitting in the cabinet above my stove hood with the light turned on to provide warmth. I'll inoculate some new bags with LC this time and hope for better luck.
