hm. it sounds like you might not have waited long enough after sterilization to innoculate, or the spores were otherwise damaged. at 2 weeks i might say it's best to start over. the temp of your room does indeed affect the growth, but unless it's below 70 or so i don't really think it would mess with the colonization this much. if you really want to see if you can get results from these, search mushroom cultivation for shroomgods incubation tek, just the word "winter" as a searchword and then limit results to shroomgod or whatever. however buying the fishtank heater used in this would prolly cost more then it would to just get more spores and verm and brf. good luck.

Do Not Use Heating Pads, I have heard very bad things about those, I bought one and took it back after i found out, They are more dry heat , which messes up the humidity, just kept my room warmer and had no problems, until i got the cobweb mold

Thanks n8 and toad,
I waited a whole day after sterilization to inoculate so im pretty sure thats not the problem. Also if one of my jars has some mycelium growth how could the sporeprint have been damaged? I opened up one of the jars to see if im waisting my time waiting and there was mycelium growth about the size of a marble, does this mean that the jars will just take longer to colonize? I am using the Shroom Wizards tek if that helps.

I have no problems using heating pads, but I am aware of their shortcomings. The pads use resistive wiring to create the heat, so the pad DOES have hot spots, the easy way around it? Merely use the pad under the container with some sort of buffer between it and the container, like a sheet of cardboard or two. This evens out the hot spots. Their next shortcoming is they are quite up and down on temp ranges, but if you get a good digital thermometer and keep an eye on the temps, it's not hard to monitor things. I have a pad right now holding at a sweet 88 degrees on it's middle setting. If you can't monitor the temp. don't bother, since a pad can and will cook the shit out of the setup if not watched. I started using one because I had it, and can't afford an aquarium submersable heater, those things aren't cheap! But I'll admit I had to tinker with it all to make it meet my needs and wants.

I've been using my growing chamber for incubation lateley, I keep the temp up by jacking my heating pad from medium to high, and adding more water (I use a pearlite setup) I move the pearlite over, and just let the jars sit in the warm water/H2O2, it keeps them in the 85F range quite well, I'll only have problems when I have to birth my cakes, in which case, I'll let a few jars just chill for a while until they're all colonized, and birth. won't work well for a continuous cycle process, but it'll work for me

Some Old Guy I know that your never supposed to open up your jars. I only opened that jar because I pretty much have given up on them colonizing. I've decided to wait a little longer; but only as long as it takes me to get some new prints.
