psychological effects: everlasting trip???

Hi
I have heard several accounts of people who never came down from their hallucinogenic trip. Has any one heard a similar account? Could this happen on a psilocybin mushroom trip?
One of the accounts I heards involved someone who took LSD often, and one trip he just never came down from, and had to be institutionalized. Another was about someone who took a "bad" hit of LSD and went crazy permenently.
If you may be wondering, these accounts were not found on an anti drug site, or any drug site at all... one was in a personal blog and the other was heard in person. All though i dont know the motives of these sources, it is free from the bias of government anti-drug propaganda.
Has anyone heard of such a thing???

I believe what he is talking about, is a case of someone with a history of mental illness in their family (most likely schizophrenia), and their tripping brought this out. Being schizophrenic can be like being in a constant state of tripping.

Onopordum acanthium its not milk thistle, milk is Silybum marianum
the most related they are is that they are both Asteraceae meaning the same family lol.

I've seen someone trip and then go into psychosis for a month, girl was and is one of my closest friends. Probably the saddest and most disturbing thing i've ever seen. She started to see the number 27 in everything and she repeatedly believed she was being put through a "test" of sorts by people unnamed. She went out there, further out than i've ever seen someone go. It went untreated for a month until she had a meltdown in the dorms and paramedics came to take her away. She stayed in the wacko-ward for a few days and then was prescribes a shitload of meds and regular psychological monitoring. Shes fine now, and has turned back into that beautiful woman i once knew.

She also thought she was tripping for that entire period, not like from the time she took her drugs on, but like daily if you asked her what was wrong and why she was acting so weird she would say she thinks someone dosed her and that nothing makes sense anymore.
