#1 Found in a wooded area on the outskirt of a pasture. Was growing close to a tree in decaying leaves and branches. I dint know enough about the trees to tell what type they were. It was very hard to the touch and had several others around it, some with red color instead of the purple seen. It has no gills, just a smooth white. the entire mushroom was purple with different layers around the outer edges.

#2 Found growing near dung in the pasture, but not in it. was growing in thick grassy area and was covered almost entirely. It has white gills, and a tan cap. No bruising was observed. the stem was the same color as the gills. a small veil was present, shaped like a smoke ring around the stem. it was also white in color

Thanks much!

need a better pic of the top of the cap in #2, but I'm guessing either Amanita or Chlorophyllum molybdites, niether of which you wanna eat. One could kill you, the other will make you think you're gonna die.
#1 is beautiful, but nothing more.

I think it is Chlorophyllum because I don't see any bulge at the stalk of the base, and I can almost imagine in my head that the gills are starting to turn green. But maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part.

true, but I found two Amanitas today with no rings and no noticeable bulging, but with cup structures at the base. Didn't have the camera, didn't take pics, didn't keep them... but they looked like A. phalloides or the metallic grey/green ones I always see around here, which I think are A. phalloides.
I think the one in his pic is C. molybdites as well, but without more than one pic, I wasn't going to definitively say either way. I know that with the white gills and a stalk that long, I'm not eating it...

Someone should tell this person that the Ganoderma is medicinal.
I guess I just did.............
(Thats the one in the first picture)
Its a beautiful mushroom. I would like to see more pictures of that! Serious myco porn talk here. Lets make a culture slant! Yeah!
But seriously, it is a beautiful fruit.
