Take this test, its short and simple.
    #7420595 - 09/17/07 05:28 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

I'm trying to find people of the INTJ personality type like me.

I found my results to be very accurate to my personality, compared to the other personality types available. Just take the test and see where you come up. Don't take it too seriously, though. It's just a simple yes/no test, and can't possibly be the absolute truth in personality assignment.

It's here: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

--------------------
My favorites are weeping willows, which aren't really weeping at all. They're very wispy, witty and will dance in the breeze with you. Nothing like a tree that wants to dance with you. Although it doesn't like its thin limbs being pulled at all, it absolutely LOVES it when you walk through them, letting them gently slide over your face and shoulders. If you're naked, the willow considers it to be sex. It will orgasm on your mind and you will blow dream chunks into outer space. All very fun until your neighbor sees you.                                    -The Joekenorer

Hehe, I thought you'd be of the INTx variety

I'm an INTP.

INTJ here.

So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Yep.  Explains a lot, really.  I could have done without the test and just read through the different types, though, because mine was quite accurate.  I gotta' get my wife on there so I can see what her deal is.  That is if she finds it to be accurate enough.

So I guess us INTx are a rare breed.  It sucks that we're stuck in a world inside ourselves.  At least we're far from dumb, and we can weigh that on the scales of evolution.  Here's to us!  :bongload:

I always lol at the taxonomy of personality.

I would say that it is on par with astrology.

I don't know. I think a lot of the distinctions made in Myers-Briggs are pretty astute.

For example, just the basic distinction between Extroverts and Introverts: one type is energized by social interaction, one type is depleted. I am usually in the former: I love to socialize, but I find that the more time I spend in the company of others, the more I value my alone time. Many people I know are the opposite, and thrive on constantly being in large social groups.

I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

are you saying that when you read all the other types that none of the characteristics applied to you as well? was your personality type spot on.... when I read these things, they read exactly like an astrology reading: accuracy through being vague.

I dont see what the point of categorizing yourself is for... it doesnt really sound scientific when you take a test that asks questions like "do you enjoy being alone" or "do you feel uncomfortable in large crowds?" and the readout says "people like you dislike large crowds and enjoy being alone".... mindblowing!

I've been taking the Myers Briggs test for years (three? maybe four?), and I've always done it sober, and honestly. I have come up as an INTP every time. I took the test when I was high once, I came up as an INFP. I guess I feel more than I think when I'm high. But I'm a freakin' textbook INTP. The first time I read the description, I was laughing with fear throughout the whole thing. I was dumbfounded at how well they'd nailed me. When I read the description of an INFP, I liked it, but it didn't really click with me. It was like an idealistic version of myself.

ok, let me just show you guys this.

"INTPs live rich worlds inside their minds, which are full of imagination and excitement. Consequently, they sometimes find the external world pales in comparison. This may result in a lack of motivation to form and maintain relationships. INTPs are not likely to have a very large circle of significant relationships in their lives. They're much more likely to have a few very close relationships, which they hold in great esteem and with great affection. Since the INTP's primary focus and attention is turned inwards, aimed towards seeking clarity from abstract ideas, they are not naturally tuned into others' emotional feelings and needs. They tend to be difficult to get to know well, and hold back parts of themselves until the other person has proven themselves "worthy" of hearing the INTP's thoughts. Holding Knowledge and Brain Power above all else in importance, the INTP will choose to be around people who they consider to be intelligent. Once the INTP has committed themself to a relationship, they tend to be very faithful and loyal, and form affectionate attachments which are pure and straight-forward. The INTP has no interest or understanding of game-playing with regards to relationships. However, if something happens which the INTP considers irreconciliable, they will leave the relationship and not look back."

and

"The Taurean's characteristics are solidity, practicality, extreme determination and strength of will - no one will ever drive them, but they will willingly and loyally follow a leader they trust. They are stable, balanced, conservative good, law-abiding citizens and lovers of peace, possessing all the best qualities of the bourgeoisie. As they have a sense of material values and physical possessions, respect for property and a horror of falling into debt, they will do everything in their power to maintain the security of the status quo and be somewhat hostile to change.

Mentally, they are keen-witted and practical more often than intellectual, but apt to become fixed in their opinions through their preference for following accepted and reliable patterns of experience. Their character is generally dependable, steadfast, prudent, just, firm and unshaken in the face of difficulties. Their vices arise from their virtues, going to extremes on occasion, such as sometimes being too slavish to the conventions they admire.

On rare occasions a Taurean may be obstinately and exasperatingly self-righteous, unoriginal, rigid, ultraconservative, argumentative, querulous bores, stuck in a self-centered rut. They may develop a brooding resentment through nursing a series of injuries received and, whether their characters are positive or negative, they need someone to stroke their egos with a frequent, "Well Done!" Most Taureans are not this extreme though.

They are faithful and generous friends with a great capacity for affection, but rarely make friends with anyone outside their social rank, to which they are ordinarily excessively faithful. In the main, they are gentle, even tempered, good natured, modest and slow to anger, disliking quarreling and avoiding ill-feeling. If they are provoked, however, they can explode into violent outbursts of ferocious anger in which they seem to lose all self-control. Equally unexpected are their occasional sallies into humor and exhibitions of fun."

INFJ. I take most things with a grain of salt, but find it interesting enough anyway. I have gotten the same results every time I have taken this test although I am sure I have answered specific questions differently. Breaking people down into categories is always fraught with over-simplification.

Specific questions aren't really looked at in the test, more your overall choice.

INTJ. I remember getting that ever since like 5th grade. And engineering is in the "carerr options' and thats what I am doing. Is this the twilight zone?!?! but seriously it is interesting that I would get the same one since 5th grade taking it every few years.

I got ESFP. It's interesting, I've taken the test many times, and SFP is always the same. However, I seem to switch between extrovert and introvert everytime I take the test. hmm...
