Great idea!!
I said banish it.
I loved Bonds as a kid, and even though he was a jerk, he could have been one of the greatest pure players, maybe the best speed/power/glove combo ever along with Mays.
But he let it get to him and forgot who he was and became larger than McGwire. People forget that Mark only weighed about 25 pounds more than he did when he came in the league. His brother was 6'5" and 240 something at SDSU. What gets me is Bonds thought we wouldn't know or believe that his growing head was do to Amino Acids.
I've done steroids, and like anyone else, if I loved a sport and the difference between me playing on the highest stage and making mad loot for it, and being a high school coach, I do the juice.
But Bonds didn't need to do it. And he points the finger at us.
Lets ship the ball, and the whole steroid era if possible, to deep space.

Can anyone tell me why pictures like this matter? The dude had been hitting home runs for fucking ever, it's not like he juiced then hit 70 a season for 5 seasons or anything.
I don't care what anyone says, they guy is an amazing ball player, steroids or not. If steroids are SOOOOOOOOO drastically enhancing, how come all the guys who get busted are fucks I've never heard of?

I love your passion, and I hope you know that, but as somebody who has used steroids in a safe and productive way, and been immersed deeply for some time in the culture, we ALL know he juiced.
But steroids don't make you big. They allow you to work harder and recover faster. So you can train harder, i.e, "hurt yourself worse", so you can eat more to repair the damage. I go on not because you don't understand, but most people have this idea that you take juice and get buff. They allow you to assimilate more, so you can eat more and see muscle gains vs fat.
I remember well the days when I was "on". For the first couple of weeks it was great. Growing, eating, feeling awesome. And then it's to the point where your whole life revolves around working out at a very high level, pushing yourself to the max, choking down food that you don't really want anymore as the body begins to realize what's going on (you got momentum now though and it is NOT the time to stop) sleeping, and taking huge nasty craps, gut aching from all the food. Cry me a river I know, but it is NOT easy to do it right. And Barry did, for better or worse. He learned how to keep his gains. Not an easy feat.
Blah blah blah, but he WAS one of the greatest ever, his athleticism CANNOT be argued. But I wish that on the day he retires, for as prickly as he was, we all would have tipped our cap to him as one of the greatest ever and THEN he would have proved the masses wrong.
I'm mad that he sold out when he didn't have to. A guy like Brett Boone, who goes from being a punch and judy guy to umpteen homers and a 9 mil a year deal I can see, but Barry was a beautiful player, every bit the Mays or Ken Griffey Jr in his way, but he wanted to be Cecil Fielder or Mark McGwire. WTH???
End of rant.

My point wasn't that he didn't/doesn't juice, if I had to choose I would say he definitely does (although I honestly really really wish there were a way to prove it and that he didn't, it would be awesome I think.) My point was that he was nasty before he juiced, I really don't think it gave him as much of an edge as people seem to think. I see no reason why steroids would give him more of an edge than amps for Hammerin' Hank.

i think this is awesome but the poll is flawed they have the same poll at espn but you can see the results right now 40.6% hall of fame 40.2% * 19.1% space with 75000 votes but anyone voting for space would rather have an * than just putting it in the hall of fame so the real numbers are 59.3% something negative should happen 40.6% something positive should happen space is like ralph nader
but yeah this is pretty awesome anyway!
