The same for trich, i have a jar that has a green dot and it doesnt appear to be growing, its been a week, and now the myc is starting to grow over it..... so could that green spot be part of the brf as well if the myc is starting to grow over it and the green hasnt spread?

Not to be a bitch, but.................brf is light brown and verm is brown, how would those two together create a green spot? The contam doesn't just magically disappear. I wish it did. You'll see it reappear fast enough just as soon as you birth it.

I learned this lesson the hard way. Good luck to you and just be careful.

dumbfounded...... it looks like every particle in the jar is "swollen" and not very brown any more, the particles look bigger, its contamed, im not opening it, im just curious as to what it is.

Mush baby...... if it was trich wouldnt it grow or spread, this dot has stayed there, the same size for a week and the myc is taking over the jar now. It probably is contam, ill let it colonize and see how it look, maybe ill just throw it outside and keep an eye for some lucky shrooms

Now I'm not an expert on the names of contams, I'll leave that to the specialists. (Not all green is trich)  But I know there's a green contam that has a white myc.  It's just not as brilliant white as the myc you are looking for.

I have put some outside with a little green and still had some success.  Especially when the weather co-operates!  The thing is, if you are really wanting to do this , then do it right.  Eliminate the bad and baby the good.  Why waste time and effort on a bad jar?   Instead use that time to figure out why you are having contam issues and use that effort to improve for next time.  Just my 2 cents worth.

For sure, im not going to case either of my suspected jars, throwing them outside might just grow some mushies if i let them colonize, if they do..... Its cold here, i dont think they will do anything but it cant hurt to try!
