Bit torrent through SSH

I want to use bit torrent at my school but my speeds are crippled to an unusable level. My question: can I use a guide like this and simply setup putty and use a purchased shell account or will I still have a problem because I am on a public network and I can't forward the port?

your speeds suck b/c they suck. setting up a proxy won't make them suck any less. u really should do torrenting from a location where u can seed back.

I can flash/jtag/repair 360's, pm for details.

The only problem is that I'm afraid they are going to bring this back to my machine. Wouldn't they automatically assign an IP via DHCP that is locked to my computer and be able to track me down? Anyway around that?

they would have to be able to identify you by your MAC address... unless you dont have proper security in place.

if you're tunnelling bittorrent through SSH, then they can't see what goes through the tunnel
if you transfer 4gB through, they can see, "Oh, this machine with this IP and this MAC transfered 4gB through ssh" but they can't see that it was bittorrent or what the content being transfered was
