subject pretty much says it all, but just out of curiosity, i want to bake a whole bag of vermiculite and put it into an airtight container, will it stay as sterile as needed for a while?
and if i dont have an airtight container, how long might it stay sterile in just a large zip lock baggie?
thanks

In a sealed container? With no way for anything to enter? Sterile forever, think about it. Verm's pretty clean anyway- baking it is going to make it extra-clean.
Maybe not forever, but a while...
As for MGMC, I honestly have had the best results with using it straight out of the bag. Sometimes it contams, but when it doesn't... it's the best pinset, thickest flushes, and best yield per area of anything I personally have tried. Cased over WBS, I haven't done cakes. I didn't get such good results pasteurizing it.

Verm has no real nutriants to began with. If there's no moisture and spores of mold or what not cant get in it to idlely wait for nutriants then it'll keep for ever. What exactly are you keeping it for? casing?

Just keep it covered, really. It'll catch plenty of mold spores in your PC, too; doesn't much matter.
PIGGYBACK! Verm doesn't break down/do anything funky in water, right? I've boiled it about 5 times over the course of 4 weeks, but I can't seem to getting around to using it
