I live for a better tomorrow because these days things don't seem to be changing much, rebellion for the sake of rebellion has gotten stale for me (and I'm too old for that now) and I don't have the money to pursue other options. Basically I live for the hope that things will get better.
Our generation does seem to have an overwhelming vibe of narcissism and pretention but I don't know if we are any different than the ones that have come before... possibly, we seem to be more isolated. I guess the trick is to find a good friend or two and look out for each other. It can be hard to be positive when there are alot of negative people out there - the psychedelics always say you have to be the change you want to see. It can be comforting to know that we are all in this together.

Are things not perfect right now? (that varies from person to person, but i think that we're all working towards the same thing.. even if we don't know it)
These perfect imperfections. I think that might be what I live for. Or music. Like Kurt Vonnegut said.. "if I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph: 'The only proof he needed for the existence of God was music.'"

That's one of my favorite quotes. Things are always perfect in a transcendent sense, in the way that things are always moving towards completion and the present moment is full of love and peace But in the immanent sense, the reality of playing the game and being a responsible person, I have a lot of work to do and right now I'm in a lot of physical pain which are making me have to readjust my priorities which I was attached to so it is not so much fun.
I know what you mean though

I don't live for anything. I try to keep my focus on the present moment and watch all things unfold like a poem. I like to learn. I like to see things from new and shocking perspectives. Sometimes my mind thinks I have nothing to live for and tries to tell me that I should feel sorry for myself and bitter about having been created against my will.
All I know is that I live.
I am

My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Right now i'm living to try and get that point of just "being happy" regardless of what the external world has happening in it.
Realizing that human hunger for money/power is insatisfiable and that straining for this is unpractical because once you achieve that point where you felt you would be happy at, you realize that you feel the same you did before you had it and then you begin to realize that nothing externally can ever make you ......

the only reason i keep living is because i havent died yet.
thats about all i can come up with. i deal okay with life and i dont fear death. ill welcome the expirience when it happens, and until then ill welcome the exprience of this moment.

Well, I drive to get to work, and I work to pay off my car. FUCK!
Now that that's off my chest, I'd say I live for the chance to be great, to have my greatness realized, and to be happy. The more I've been thinking about it lately though, the more I fear that I'm just ordinary and it scares the living shit out of me.

ya know, i've felt like a slave my whole life and the two things that release me are love and music festivals. And the people at music festivals. And different feelings that make you feel alive; adreneline rushes, exhaustion, relief, the afterglow of certain things.... soo eh

...to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
I have learned to turn off my mind off work the very moment i leave the office. I have got 4 or 5 hours still before i hit the bed and i would think of ways to make the best use of it.

There is nothing too ordinary about this experience of living. Practically extraordinary in fact! There will be some repetition, but the immense incomprehensibility of it all is nothing short of spectacular. No need to be fearing the unknown, don't worry about those things you can't control.
Live for living's sake.

Adventure, romance, friendship, and music. These are the few things in life that feel satisfying to me, regardless of what anyone else says I will make adventures. I really am sick of the generation I've grown up in. Right now I'm finishing my last year of highschool, and when I walk down the hallways all I see around me is sheep. It truly makes me wonder if anyone ever stops to question everything around them, or even appreciate it. They're all concerned with how they look, or the drama between their friends. Really, who gives a fuck? In the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. For example today I missed a question on an assignment, but I reassured my teacher with, "Don't worry, be happy. a missed question is nothing to stress over. "
It's the little things that matter.

speaking of computer screens, I tried messing around with my computer's layout this past week...what a pain in the ass. It certainly looks a lot cooler, but it also seems to have slowed down my system. Oh well.
I discovered an area of the woods nearby that looks straight out of Jurassic park or something...it's awesome! Yeah this weekend most likely.

Haha, I know exactly the area you mean. I always imagine a pack of raptors running down the hill or pterodactyls flying when I'm there.
Anyway, dang. I'm coming home for the weekend but I'll be here at school all week... Guess there's no chance of hanging out.
