I have some morning glory plants growing in my backyard - I was wondering if anyone could id them/ or tell whether or not they are of use. Thanks in advance.

not heavenly blue, unless those flowers are burned from the sun.

Looks like they could be deep purple morning glories which dont have anything active. But there is a ton of different species and those could something else that is active... Heavenly blue are the most potent and the most useful though.

So would it be safe to go ahead and try an extraction? Or do some species of morning glory contain other chemicals besides the LSAs that are toxic? Is there a simple test I could use to determine if there are actives in this species - i.e. using a black light on an extract? (so many things glow under black light though....)

I found some morning glories near where I live, they're white fading into dark purple down inside the flower... any ideas what these are?

I think I'm going to clear these out come winter and replace them with a known active strain like heavenly blue - and also put in a few other useful plants .
