Oven as a dehydrator?

My oven at home i just discovered has a dehydration setting on it specifically for drying things in it.
My question is whether this would be too much for drying mushrooms on it. What do you think?

stick an oven thermometer in it and see how hot it gets i'd assume it wouldn't work well cause of a lack of fan and it probably gets well over 150, which i'd never consider using any heat over 100

i believe 120 is where it starts, but i'm pulling that number outta my ass, i haven't actually read about it in a long while.
a lot of people will argue because they make tea with boiling water and it works fine, but i believe it only breaks down with prolonged exposure to heat above a certain temp (again i think 120) so tea wouldn't ruin it whereas long term exposure to oven heat might....
again though, its been a while since i looked into it, and theres always been so much debate about it all so i could very well be very wrong... i do know that 95 degrees with a fan works great....

I've often heard oven drying to be discouraged.
Moving air is key, so a fan + desiccant combo is probably best, unless you have a food dehydrator. Avoid sunlight also, as I believe that contributes to potency loss.

I have never owned an oven with a setting for dehydrating things but I do agree that I would find out how hot it gets before trying to dry them
