Suburban Terraforming?
    #7415369 - 09/16/07 03:18 AM (16 years, 4 months ago)

I'm lucky enough to live in the pacific northwest and have been reading up on shroom hunting. I read that some of the more potent mushrooms, azurescens and cyanescens, grow naturally in this region, but I'm not committed enough to drive for miles to go hunting. So my question is this:
My town has a pretty well sized, maybe 1Mile x 3/4Mile, plot of pretty dense forest (I know ¾ Miles squared of forest isn’t really a forest) that it uses for dog walking and general boredom-induced "exploring". It consists of small animals, various northwest trees (I know alder is a good one for shrooms, but I don't know it those are in the park) and shrub plants, dirt, and a small baseball field huddled within. If I were to go around splashing un-sterilized spore solution under ferns, at bases of trees, here and there and everywhere logical, might I go back sometime in the future to find patches of mushrooms? I have about a gallon of high density spore solution but it's been compromised and I'm sure if I tried to pf cake it bacteria and mold would take over. So basically, I guess, my question is whether cusbensis and azurescens spores would grow in dirt and non alder wood, or near the many ferns in the park, or even on some dog poo? My hope is that I could find a secluded spot where no pathman goes and lace it with the seeds of inspiration? Furthermore, is there any element I might add to the forest, or moreover a secluded part of it, that might enable this dream of mine?
I really appreciate you reading this, and if you want to go that extra mile, go ahead and post back and make some friends.
Do you think it's moral to spread mushrooms in a public forest park where small children might run and play?
You may choose only one

If a child is going to eat any mushroom in a forest rather it be that then something that might poison it.
