HPPD....how you feel about it.

I have "Static vision", "After images", "Halos around objects" and the ground shifts depending on what kind of mood im in.
Besides from the static....HPPD isnt that bad. You learn to cope with it quickly if you have the right outlook.
Im only posting this because i know there are alot of newbies to shrooms, acid, ect. who are worried about this type of thing. I used to be one of them. It looks like I caught it also
Do you have HPPD? How do you view it. Does it depress the shit out of you? Is it as big a scare as you thought it be.
(P.S. Something tells me that salvia is a GREAT way to catch static vision....be careful)

By static vision do you mean things are kinda like looking really close to an old(er) TV but far away?

I used to have it pretty severely. I would see "shooting stars" n colored blips all the time.. Sometimes the ground or walls would shift too. I noticed that when I was stressed it would increase the severity.. During a monthlong stay in a penetantiary it was goin crazy.. I got a prescription for seroquel, and this seemed to helo a bit. Once I got out I took 500 n 700Mg's of it n this seemed to really help it out. After those two experiences the HPPD severely decreased.. Its been about a year and those hallucinations are pretty rare now. I cant remember the last one

I get after images, static, coloured blobs in the dark, things shifting, and see weird things in the dark or when I close my eyes.
I love it all. The static and coloured blobs in the dark are the only annoying thing. Sometimes I want to see were Im going at night.
It gets worse when Im drunk or hungover, and just about disappears when Im stoned/after I comedown.

I get static very frequently, and when im in a dark room with no lights on, shadows will play tricks on me.
I wouldn't really call what I get HPPD, as much as just a long lasting afterglow however.

Ya I think we all can agree that "Static Vision" Is the worst one. Everything else though is pretty awsome

I have HPPD, not severely but its there. Sometimes rooms seemed to shif the angle on which they are and "tilt" back and forward which kinda blows, but the worst is looking at the day sky the static vision makes it like a giant strobe light sometimes

Can someone explain static vision? I've had the ground move on me the day after a shroom trip before, it was pretty neat, like missing a step on a staircase.

I am use to it.
Static vision is like everything is covered with fine colored noise.
I see shit move (breath). The darker it is the more effects come up i can see bright colored spots appear and go away. Everything is covered in patterns. Many other unusual visual distortions.

I perceive it as your mind picking up information it wasn't aware of before you tripped. Patterns moving around, or a sort of fuzz on everything, or waves on surfaces are the most I've ever had. It's never bothered me in the slightest.

I've had "static vision" my entire life. I used to lay there at night in the dark as a kid wondering why 'dark' wasn't just black like everyone said. I'd ask people about it and they'd have no idea what I was talking about. THe only thing is, it didn't seem to negatively effect my night-vision at all. Maybe because it wasn't abnormal for me, it didn't distract me, so it didn't interfere.

If u have static vision you see it dark or bright. I see it all over my screen and all around my room as i am typing this.
Its a little more different then the noise you see all the time in the dark.

I've always seen patterns and grids (although normally they are dull and fuzzy) over solid colored things. I can't tell if tripping often recently has made it worse, but it dosn't really bother me regardless.

i had to google HPPD but oddly enough, I think i've had much of the symptoms all of my life - which is not to say it wasn't drug induced, my parents were hella stoners the majority of my life...lol
The two most distinct symptoms would be the visual snow and the color changing. In direct sunlight I've always had this thing where I would see the complementary color (for lack of a better term) of whatever I was looking at. A red haze over the green grass, purple puffs above yellow flowers, an orange tinge on the clouds in the bright blue sky.
Gives me migraines sometimes if I don't have sunglasses.

yeah i have a light case of HPPD and sometimes it's annoying, but usually it's great. When I'm really bored in school I let my eyes go out of focus, and the walls start breathing and shifting and it's great.Makes school so much more fun. The best is in one of my classes I just stare at this stop sign on the wall and after a minute all the color bleeds out of it and kind of spreads over the wall, then everywhere I look for the next few minutes I see negatives of stop signs all over everything. IE, I LOVE HPPD

Bloody hell! Anyone NOT get HPPD?!!?!!?
I had a flashback twice. once i was majorly stressed and under enotional shock and the other was just driving along casually and lasted about two seconds.
OUT of interest, how much do you guys who have HPPD indulge in psychedelics and of which kind?
cheers!

To be honest some of my intentions of using psychedelics involved training my mind to cohere certain "visual sequences" permanently as well as make weed more psychedelic. Weed to me is almost like a photographic drug in which you can recall aspects of certain states of psychedelia. To each their own though.
I can make certain configurements, points of intrest or on random occasions produce a fibonacci spiral of "varying depths" Eastern style geometry that is common to LSD is a common visual I can produce at pretty much at will, with certain patterns being obviously easier to transform, such as grass or trees. A park bench can be difficult for me.
Also, a bunch of other shit, but I'd be more rambling than I am now.
But all in all it serves its functions in everyday life, it's kinda like tying shoes to me, easy and it gets you where you need to be.
