Have you ever had acid reflux?

The shrooms are known to cause digestive problems... bad acid reflux can feel like a pretty severe heart spasm sometimes... and trippin I would imagine would make this pretty unbearable.

Thanks Redgreenvines,

SDP is right, something I forgot to mention. The number one cause of chest pain is the gizzard. Meaning esophageal reflux or acronym GERD. Many people get it when they lie down b/c there is a little valve that prevents stomach content which has acid in it from going back up into the esophagus and irritating it. It works best with gravity so some people pot cinder blocks under the head of their bed to add a little bit of tilt when they go bed.
Also, a person can take a proton pump inhibitor such as prilosec to see if it goes away. It used to be prescription only but priolosec is over the counter now. (a bit pricey) or nexium by prescription.

The problem is, that people who have gotten an esophageal spasm and also had a heart attack say they couldnt tell the difference.
No one has ever died of from a gizzard attack, but people do die from heart disease.
So, prudent would be a stress test. Unless your like 18 where it would be extremely rare to have blocked heart arteries.

Risk factors, family history, age, smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure and abnormal blood work (cholesterol and triglycerides).
Cant really give you too much advice via the internet.
Hope that helps.
Try a prilosec an hour before you eat something that causes the discomfort, if it goes away then you can at least to some degree be reassured, especially if you are young with no risk factors, that it isnt coming from your heart.

Then, and this may reassure you, if you are thin and do not have diabetes and no history of sudden cardian death in your family.
Then it is about 1/100,000th that is a problem with the plumbing of your heart.
I mean statistically very unlikely, I mean you could always win the lottery you never wanted to win.
But it is sooooo unlikely at your age.

We know, from autopsies of vietnam kids about your age who were killed in combat. That the beginnings of growth or plaques in the coronary arteries begins before your age. They found them upon autopsy. Young men with the beginnings of heart disease.
Over years to decades, it advances, it's like the shittiest slow growing mycellium you can think of.

If I can offer any advice to you, do not smoke, that really piles on the crap inside the lining of the arteries.
The other stuff.

Lets say you do not smoke, like alot of the kids killed in vietnam. Why would they have the beginnings of athersclerotic heart disease?

It's b/c of the North American Diet. Of.... processed foods. breads, sugars, soda, pasta. Anything that breaks down the cellular walls and allows the cytoplasm to be absorbed quickly.
Which, raises blood sugars, which, unfortunately raises insulin.

We have done tests on dogs where we inject insulin into the leg artery over months. It virtually creates the atherosclerotic disease process. So insulin is a killer and is more important a predictor of heart attacks than blood cholesterol.

So cheesy poofs or a pepsi or whatever, especially combined with smoking. Well, it's how you grow plaques in the coronary arteries which lead to heart attacks.
IF I was to take a person and want to induce heart disease. I would give them tobacco (smoked only, chew does not do anything to your heart) and give them a diet heavy in processed foods.
If I REALLY want to end their life soon. I would give them daily injections of insulin on top of that. (like a diabetic person has to take).

When we have done angiograms of people with heart disease with ischemia, we find a blockage here or there that restricts flow. When we do a diabetic with angina. What we find is the tubes, the fuel lines of the heart, looks like someone sprayed shit the whole length of the tubes. That is the effect of insulin. (insulin is released from eating processed foods, like bread and pasta and soda). Not to mention it causes type two diabetes.

So beyond that. What you want to do is limit your risk factors if you are concerned about your heart. Throw away the smokes. If you can't say no for yourself. Go to a physician and get a 12 week prescription for Chantix. It will stop cravings cold. A miracle anti-smoking drug that I have talked to several patients, redneck patients, who just rave about it.
Then, limit all processed foods and really fatty foods. In fact, from a cardiovascular standpoint, bread and pastas and sodas are worse than fats. Carbs raise triglycerides. Fill your diet with fresh foods and vegetables and lean meats.
Limit fruit juices, they are virtually as bad as coca-cola with a little more vitamins.

If you trip, take a prilosec availabe from a local drug store an hour beforehand.
Eat some ginger for nausea.
It's a funny thing about the thoracic cavity. If I was to take a ballpeen hammer out and hit one of your toes. You could damn well tell me which toe it was.
Not so with the thoracic cavity which houses your heart and gizzard, the wiring is messed up and individual. If I was to reach inside with a needle-nosed pliers and pinch something between your heart or near your swallower. You may, depending on how you are wired. Feel it in your arms, your chin, the back of your neck, you may feel an upset stomach. It's so random. I had a woman who was having a heart attack who came in complaining that it felt like she was having a beesting in her ear.
That was the strangest. But it goes to prove that NO sensation in the thoracic cavity can be attributed to any particular organ or structuve. Ever.
So it must be ruled out with a logical history and algorhythmic thinking process.

I would lay money it's reflux with you. Like I said, prilosec, try it No prescription needed. take it an hour or two before you consume anything.
I bet you will never have to worry about this again after this thread
