Going on a trip!

My parents promised to take my sister and I on a trip when I finish my chemo treatment next summer as a reward for not sucking out.
I get to choose where we go. It doesn't really seem real yet, so I haven't really been taking the whole idea very seriously. My mom keeps trying to get me excited about it asking me where I want to go, but I don't know.
Austrailia? Bahamas? Mexico?
Maybe you guys can give me some great travel ideas. Tell me about some of your favorite trips, post some pictures. Help me get excited.

If you're listening Australia, Bahamas, and Mexico as possible travel destinations, I'm guessing you're the type who likes warm weather and the beach. Please don't go to one of those all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, they are such an artificial experience. I would go somewhere exotic like Easter Island (bit far away, though), Senegal, Morocco, or Turkey.

My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

I say Argentina. Steak, red wine, and beautiful beaches.

I agree!!
I went to trinidad and tobago last summer with my roommate, who's native from Trinidad. It was a true caribbean exoerience, staying at his mom's house, eating the food made by natives, being around their family functions, seeing his relatives, going to the non-"commercial" beaches.
Although it was FAR from 5-star, i wouldn't have changed it for a fake, americanized resort.

yeah stay away from those resort things.
You can get a cabana on the beach for 10-15 a night in Costa Rica you can live well for 35 a day and eat lobster every night.
Bug the locations you said are def good spots, I'd also suggest the Canary Islands. Also Italy is awesome, down south of Pompeii is very lush and scenic, the coastal roads are amazing, Capri and Sorrento in the Campania region are some nice places.

Id go to australia. but those are all great, so many choices.. really there are so many great places to travel to. around europe there are many different places close together you could travel to like italy for example like randalflagg said, and then like within hours away there are other nice places in each direction, so that would be a good place to go. egypt would be cool, pyramids. i hope i get the opportunity someday to go to some of these places. when you do go, have a great trip!

Venice and Murano are def on my to do list next time. Sorrento is more of a place for lovers and rich people then friends hanging out. Nalples is a crazy city! Rome is just straight up tight all around. I could live there!
Brazil sounds like a place i want to visit. Got places to stay down that way.

Personally, I'd take a tour of Europe. Focus on the Mediterranean (Northern Africa included), but be sure to also go into the Alps, spend some time in Prague, and Copenhagen and Stockholm and St. Petersburg if you have a reason to go that far north.
If you're more into the tropical paradise type of thing, skip Hawaii and Fiji and all of that touristy crap. Go for the Maldive islands in the Indian ocean.
