A great way to dry your shrooms, pretty quick actually, is to pre-heat your oven and lightly bake them for about 15 minutes. They should be ready to go.

i let my shrooms air dry to a point where they seem pretty dry. do not be fooled tho...there is still some water present in there. water left in the shrooms will cause further decomposition of the halucenagenic effects in your shroomies. to dry them to the point that there is no water left just put them in a mason jar with some desiccant beads in the bottom, dont let the shrooms touch the beads tho, as they are toxic. just place the shrooms in an open bag and put in the mason jar with the desiccant beads separated from the shrooms. here is an interesting quote that i just found for preserving mushrooms for up to a year without any potency loss.
"Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World." Paul Stamets, ISBN 0-89815-839-7, (1996)
The author writes on page 51 and 52:
"After drying, seal them in an air-tight plastic bag and freeze them. This will preserve their potency for the longest possible time. All species gradually lose their potency over time. Many species will lose most of their original potency after a few years of storage. P. semilanceata seems to degrade slowly, making it an excellent species to store over long periods of time. This is largely due to its relatively high psilocybin and low psilocin content. (Chart at top of p. 40 omitted.) Psilocin is unstable compared to psilocybin. Recent studies have also shown that Psilocybe azurescens, a new species from the Pacific Northwest, also degrades slowly, having approximately the same psilocybin and psilocin content after six months of storage as when it was fresh. However, most psilocybin mushrooms stored longer than a year usually show a significant loss of potency, especially in psilocin."
"Another factor affecting the potency of Psilocybes is the condition of the mushrooms at harvesting. Older specimens, infested with parasites, will be less potent than younger specimens that were harvested in pristine condition. Specimens that have dried in the sun, are water soaked, have been frozen, or have become old vary in potency -- complicating determination of dosage. However, many of us have found that, by mass, the juvenile mushrooms are usually much more potent than the adults."

that is about the WORST way to dry i've ever heard. just fan dry for 2 days. unless the humidity in your home is like over 90% they will dry by themselves with no fanning, desiccant, or anything else.

fan dry your shrooms for 12 hours then dry them with desiccant.
if desiccant is unavailable, bake epsom salts in the oven at 350 farenheit for 30-45 minutes, with the oven door opened a crack for moisture to escape.
epsom salt is sold at pharmacies

Also if you don't want to get all go go gadget you can simply lay them out and let them fan dry. This method takes a bit longer but avoids buying extra things and saves space when not using it.

I bought a small bucket, broke off the handle on a large kitchen strainer, poured some Damp-rid in the bottom of the bucket, and placed the strainer over/in the bucket. I put the shrooms in the strainer and wrap the top and edges with a piece of tight plastic kitchen wrap . This is cheap and will get your shrooms cracker dry in about 3 days.
