Spores released or contam?

First time grower, it's a fun hobby so far! Only one mushroom grew from this half cake, and nothing is growing on the other half yet. A few pins finally started on the other cake in there. Four other cakes were cased, and the mycelium is spreading quite nicely.
I'm guessing the black on top of the other cake is just the spores from the mushroom, but I don't want to risk it.

Also, I half assed the dunk and roll and discovered vermiculite barely sticks if you skip the dunk part of the tek, haha. I should have knocked the pieces off, they just look goofy now. Anyway, any idea what I could be doing wrong that so few pins are forming? The temperature is mid 70s and there's usually some condensation on the top of the pot. Do I need to fan more, or how would I know if humidity is too low?

Prolly just spores i would say.
You should buy a humidity guage and fan at least 3 times a day.

If it's released spores, would I still be able to take a clone from the stem, as in creamedcorn's LC cloning guide?

Was hoping to try that out tonight.
