Check out this crazy fungus swim found




and then this one, but this one isn't nearly as pretty



any ideas?... by the by, swim was also curious if there were any active
fruitless fungi?

the third one down is a sulphur shelf,and I'm not sure about the others.

The first three appear to be Chicken of the Woods, an excellent edible in my opinion.
But the ones in your pictures might be close to being past their prime.

sweet! thanks for the ID guys :laugh:... Mmm chicken fungi... swim was trying to think up a 'why did the chicken cross the road joke', but right now swim feels too lazy

i agree...chicken mushroom aka laetiporus sulphureus...looks like its in pretty good condition.

In your last picture the mushroom is Artist Conk, Ganoderma applanatum.

The tips would still be very edible and well tastey! Even though it looks faded. I found the thick tipped ones have a far nicer texture then the thin shelved ones.

it could also be swims camera, it was low light the other day, in actuality they are a fair bit brighter.

Man, im excited to try this... Chicken of the Woods, it just sounds so cool
