I watched "The village" last night for the first time

Really not as bad as most people make it out to be...it's actually more than halfway decent until the end when it just sort of falls apart.

He's the most overrated director around.

But yeah, I didn't think The Village was too bad. Worth watching I suppose.

He's overrated but one day he'll do something truly Great, capital g.

I personally think Unbreakable is the shining star of his filmography.

I can't lie, I haven't even seen it.
Even better than the Sixth Sense? That was a good one.

Far better. It's like...all that goodness he milked out of Bruce Willis' acting ability in The Sixth Sense was just the tip of the iceberg, and in Unbreakable he really gets it all out. The most powerful Willis moment of his career is in a deleted scene on the Unbreakable DVD. I get chills every time I see it.

Cute.

Maybe I'll throw it on the NetFlix queue. The same queue that hasn't changed in months because I've had one movie in my room for 2 months. I can't even tell you what movie it is... City of Lost Children maybe.
Damnit, I need to start using that shit again.

/off topic rant.

I thought the Village was ok. Better than "Lady in the water" IMO.

didn't he also direct "unbreakable"?

The Sixth Sense was hella scary when i first saw it, i think i was still in jr.high though, just a couple years after thinking "Are you afraid of the dark" was terrifying.

I really liked the cinematography and was very into until the end.

The red and yellow was just creepy.

And Unbreakable RULES.

I thought it was a good movie, more about the concepts of breaking the rules and trying to escape reality. Besides the blind girl was bad ass going through the forest alone. I don't know it could be better but a decent movie.

Yea it is an amazing one, Futurama is the shizbang... although I have been on a huge Venture Bros kick since I dl'ed the seasons lol.

Anyways back to Topic!

I think part of the reason that I liked the movie is it was this huge thriller but in reality it was just reality, no monsters no bla bla "scary because it is horrible gruesome and stupid" and actually made sense at the end...

oh my fucking god yes. i love love LOVE the venture bros. it is quoted at least 10 times a day in my apt. i've seen every episode at least 3 times, some as many as 10. episode 1 of season 2 has the best intro EVAR.

seriously though. futurama and the venture bros are my two most favorite cartoons ever. i have all the seasons of each burned onto DVDs (the files are avi, so i can fit a full season on each dvd). good shit man.

its good until you see the ending, then everything that came before was just stupid and retarded.

i get the idea and i see how it could have been a great movie, but he just sucks as a director

Yea they are my fave two as well, really amazing... I have some serious burning to do again, hd is like 98% full, need to lose some weight!

I think watching the movie without knowing the last twist was fine, but I agree that the ending was a little off... his last offering didn't get a second thought from me... blah.
