question about sterilizing water/jar for making syringes.

Hey,
I've gotten a hold of some spores (I'm in GA), I'm waiting on syringes and a PC. I ordered RR's videos and watched them...very deteailed...except for one thing.
In the part about preparation for making syringes, he goes through the list of materials and how to pressure cook them...30 minutes at 15psi, something like that. The thing that I am unclear on isnhow to sterilize the jar and water. He has a jar filled with water(distilled I think) with a tyvek cover and ring. What are the steps in sterilizing the water, jar, tyvek, and ring? Can I just put the water in a jar, cover with tyvek and ring, tighten, and put the whole kaboodle in the PC? Or does it need to be sterilized in parts?
I REALLY don't want to mess this up because my print is small and living where I do, it will be a PAIN to get more.
Thanks, mbmcewen

Yes you can,and if spores are a pain for you to get you should really give top priority to making some good thick lc,I have a link to an lc tek in my Sig....if you choose to just knock up grain jars than use one to make "Grain lc"(Search posts,NOT search site)....that will give you plenty of mycelium suspended in water that you can use to perfect your lc technique or even just to knock up with jars the way it is Good luck

Please fly to ShroomCity (Link below) and have a look how one does it.
Growing shrooms is as easy as making a cup of tea... with my NEW PF-Tek = very easy, but also very efficient... and it is FREE.
Good shroomin'

Start with good water for making syringes. I use tap water, but we have really good tap water here. If you have any doubts, use bottled distilled water. Jars aren't as picky, tap water will be ok.
Like Blutjager says, LC is a great tool to stretch your spores. Honey water is probably the simplest.

Thanks for the replies, but i am still not getting exactly what I need. I am all for LC but i am not there yet. I need to make some syringes first and i don't know how to get sterile water into a sterile jar.
See, what I am hanging up on is boiling/pressure cooking a sealed jar half full of water....seems like a time bomb waiting to go off. If I have got it wrong, please enlighten me as to the correct method.
Thanks in advance. mbmcewen

That's why you pressure-cook. The pressure outside is the same as the pressure inside. There's no differential, there's no danger.
Besides, there's a needle port. Whether you use a sealed port or a hole, that's going to release pressure before the jar breaks.
When you PC a jar of jelly, you leave the lid loose, but covered with foil. Then you screw the lid down while it's hot, and you get a vacuum seal. You really don't want that vacuum with mycology jars, you don't want to suck any foreign spores in when the jar is opened.
It seems weird, but it works. Another way to go would be to just buy a plastic bottle of sterile distilled water, and just stick the needle through the lid and suck out syringes of water. Not necessary to do it that way, but you could.

I dunno, I always just PC my water. But it seems like it would. Depends on how sterile it is. I work in a place where I can grab little bottles of "really sterile" water, I don't know if commercial drinking water would work.
But it should. I guess you wouldn't have to jab through the lid, just unscrew it carefully with clean hands or gloves.
Somebody speak up if this isn't a viable option!

I bet it would work. I forgot all about med supply companies. You can buy sterile water from med supply companies and I bet it is STERILE. Just unscrew the cap and suck it up. Hmmm...takes the labor out of it.
Thanks for the help everyone. I feel better about the whole thing now.
