its a type of grain. you can get it at a health food store.

I found quinoa, brown rice flour, wheat flour, rye flour all at king soopers of all places. quinoa is right around the flour.Go up and down the flour isle's and the cake mix isles. They are sold in 2 lb bags with no preservatives. ive also found vermiculite at king soopers, and ofcoarse water...so its a great place to go for substrate materials. GNCmight have the same stuff too but they are always gunna be more expensive. BTW..where could i find a substrate recipe with quinoa?

Alein's substrate recipe uses quinoa. And I just recently started a few jars with it and so far I am very pleased with the results I'm seeing, Very strong, healthy, strandy growth.

You can find the recipe at www.shroom-mage.com under the cultivation teks. Check it out, you'll be pleased. Its a great site and has lots of other good info.
