It sounds like one pup is etoliating (stretching). It's quick growth but not good growth becuase it grows skinnier and thus will provide weaker support later on. It hasn't been all that long since you've even had the pups so i doubt much damage has been done if etoliation is the case. Is it real light green or just a little lighter? Give it more light and see if it stops.
It sounds like there isn't enough energy to support two pups. Perhaps more energy was available in early September, but with the declining light cycle it wasn't enough. if it's using natural light it's approaching time for dormancy in which case both will stop growing and will begin again when there is more sun available to support even growth. That;s my take anyway.

It's an abort, just like with mushrooms, they do that sometimes.
Simisu, your pedros will do awesome in your climate, plant it in the ground and it will boom. Trichs like space to send out long surface roots, you just cant provide that in a pot. They'll handle the few freezing nights that you get with no problems.

I t could be an abort but not necessarily. It really hasn't been that long. You'll know if it's not growing next year.

I wish i could plant it in the growned unfortuntly though i live in a rented apartment and probably not for too long (i'm not even sure i'll have a sunny spot for it when i move)
for now it'll have to do with a big pot (maybe someday i'll find a spot for it?) either way my plan is to take cuttings and make a little family so i might expirience the magic of mascalin some day...
