i planted a small cutting about 6 months ago, and about a week ago i noticed two pups forming. a day later i found a couple more near the base and then a third!
so i've got 5 pups growing now i never thought it would be so fast!
Rejoice!!!

You'll be amazed how quick they grow, I like the way that they actually burst out of the cactus.

I've got a big scop, the pups burst out the size of golf balls and grow to tennis ball size in little over a week, Pups on it will go from birth to 18 inches long and four inches thick in a single 8 month grow season.

Do you know anything about grafting cacti outdoors, as in plants growing in the ground? I want to graft bridgesii's on to all my pedros.

Because bridgesii are far more potent but the pachanois grow a lot faster.

well they kept growing like crazy but recently slowed down a little. i've potted it to a 5 liter pot not too long before it pupped (maybe like three months ago) could it be time to re pot it? winter is just around the corner so maybe i should wait to repot it after winter? i'm also not sure if i should leave it outside for winter (this is Israel the winter isn't too harsh)
my peyote is going inside for sure but i think the pedro can handle it, the question is if i should count on it to keep growing and fill a 10 liter pot before it gets too wet or to leave it in the 5 liter pot and maybe risk it being a little root bound?

repotting in spring would be best... less soil is best when the plant is dormant, extra soil just means extra moisture which means extra risk of root rot...
if u get frost or freezing weather during winter there then bring it indoors, if not then it can stay outside... sorry im not familiar with israeli weather lol
u should keep it dry through winter anyway, give it some shelter from rain if u do leave it outside...

usually there's no frost (maybe like 2-3 days in winter) maybe some hail though i guess it would be best to take inside then... but it would not have enough light (i don't want it to stretch or something like that?
i should wait until it really gets cold though before i take it in right?
thanks

lol definately protect it from hail, u dont want puncture wounds on your baby now

if u wait until the plant is dormant and withold water, it wont stretch... light is the least most inportant factor to preventing etoliation... keep it dry and cool and it will sleep through winter... (u might want to give a small amount of water if it begins to look dehydrated)
