Quick Question About Firecrackers

Im not sure if everyone knows what Im talking about so ill just tell you the jist of it. What you do is get Crackes, like premium plus or something, spread peanut butter on it and then get a good sized bud, grind it up and put it in the peanut butter. Sandwich the peanut butter with another one on top, rap it in foil and then bake it in the oven. Now im no chemist but from what i understand, the hot oils in the peanut butter release or change something in the THC which results in a longer and much more enjoyable high when consumed. It takes about an hour to kick in and lasts up to 6 hours.
Anyway, my big question is that after they are baked in the oven, can you seal them in a ziploc bag or someothr air tight container for later consumption? Or do they need to be eaten right out of the oven? Thanks for the help

They're not going to taste very good, but they should keep as long as they don't mold or something. Keep in the dark, cool and dry. Of course if you are eating after a few days, you don't need to be that careful. Make sure moisture doesn't build up in the ziploc if you store them hot.
If your peanut butter has hydrogenated oils in the ingredient list, you're not getting the most out of your bud. "Natural" or "organic" are key words to look for on the label.

I dont mean to nitpick but.. a hydrogenated oil just means that there are no degrees of unsaturation in the oil compounds in the peanut butter. There are no double/triple bonds in those particular oils because theyve been 'hydrogenated' (process of adding hydrogen).
This does not really affect much as THC is soluble in both saturated and unsaturated oils. Naphtha, for example, can be considered a bunch of hydrogenated oils. Natural/organic has no real benefit here.
You should just look for peanut butter with the highest fat content.

I know you know your chemistry, so I can't really hold a debate with you. I'll maybe do some more research if I have time.
Just know that this is something that has long been reiterated and passed down through word-of-mouth from master firecracker makers. If it binds well to saturated and unsaturated fats, then trans fat must be what they worry about.

THC is fat soluable and the fats of the butter are absorbing the THC as the heat melts the butter into the bud. THC, consumed, has an infinitely longer body buzz than when inhaled.
Thanksgiving is coming up and because there's no smoking in the car on roadtrips, I've just started stocking up for the holiday baking season. My personal favorite extraction method is...
1/4 oz bud, seeded, stemmed and ground. Note, this is the "after" weight. Buy more accordingly depending on how much the throw-away weighs.
1 stick of real butter.
2 cups of water.
----
Boil the water in a pot and slowly cut in slices of the butter until the butter is all melted into the water. Stir in your shredded greens and let it simmer for about 20-30 minutes stirring ocassionally.
Fold a piece of cheese cloth over a tupperware container that is at least twice as large as the water / butter mixture. It helps A LOT if you have a friend pour it in slowly as you keep the cheesecloth taunt.
The leafy material will stay in the cheesecloth at this point so you can now wrap it up tight and squeeze it between two spoons to wring out every drop of yummy goodness.
Cover and place the tupperware in the fridge for 12-24 hours. The butter and water will separate and poking two holes into the butter, when hardened, will allow all the water drain out.
--- The science...
- THC breaks down around 350(F), but water boils at only 212(F). By boiling it in water you are protecting the temperature whereas oils (from sauteing recipes) can reach temps upwards of 400(F) quite easily.
- THC is fat soluble whereas all the bitter tasting icky icky's that are also contained in the plant are water soluble. Simply put, the good stuff goes into the butter and the nasty stuff goes into the waste water.
===
I have no idea why I felt the need to get that way off topic. nite all...

Found this article on peanut butter. Shows no detectable level of trans fat in commercial peanut butters.
http://www.ars.usda.gov/is/pr/2001/010612.htm
Regardless, I myself would prefer to eat just peanuts and salt, without the added sugar and saturated fat.
