hypothetically speaking...

if my friend was tripping balls, how do you think she would react if i said something silly like, "show me your boobs?"
i'm asking this because it is a question concerning somebodys ability to understand humor, silliness, or awkwardness in a conversation while tripping. do you think that they still understand these social standards, or do you think somebody would be confused or offended by them?

do you think somebody in such an altered state is able to relate in terms that normal people would be able to easily function, such as in humor, awkwardness, intellect?

he is right in that it totally depends on your relationship with her and the setting involved...
haha i can see on some trips it would be fucking hilarious to say that to someone and everyone would get a kick out of it...
however i could also easily see someone getting pretty uncomfortable..
idk dude i dont think that the shroomery can give ya a good answer here
good luck...if you do say it, i hope all goes well

ahaha i'm not doing it, i'm just putting somebody in the situation to encounter typical social norms but in an altered state of consciousness, how they would react... confused, uninterested, uncomfortable?

haha yeah i got that after i already posted my first answer...
i am interested in this too..
i think there are just sooo many things to consider though.
the person tripping would probably just become very uninterested anyways

So it sounds like the question is really, 'Can give my friend some acid/shrooms, then take her to a frat party?' I say sure, just try to get her to dress like a raver first, give her some glowsticks and a pacifier, and bring a camera. Then post pictures.

Well, that's on you. I see what you're trying to get at, and if just what you were trying to get at was 100% your focus, you know as well as I do that you would have found a better way to illustrate it than with this example. What do you think is going to happen when you say "boobs" to a bunch of guys that are potentially high/tripping?
On topic, or, on your under-lying topic, I have found that most, not all, normal societal and situational stimulus is hard to place in the right context while tripping. Tone of voice, body language, all the subconscious things that happen in a conversation are hard to put together, and one thing can set the entire idea trying to be gotten across to the tripping person somewhere else in their brain.
I often get confused while tripping and can't tell if someone is being funny or serious. It doesn't help that I have terrible hearing and rely so hard on the other subconscious signals to understand what people are telling me. I could go on forever but I have to go to work.
What else do you want to know?

well the specific example seems a little strange.
It depends on how well you know her also and how much she trusts you and how you say it.
and most importantly on the girl.
Oh, and your level of creepiness.

Do you usually ask girls to show you their boobs? Cause if you do you're kind of a dick.
EVEN IF it's a joke, blah blah, you don't really mean it, blah blah, you're kind of kidding, blah blah. YOU STILL REALLY WANT THIS GIRL TO SHOW YOU HER BOOBS! It's no joke, the point of saying that is to see some tits. You asshole, it's guys like you that make girls think they're nothing more than fucking sex machines.
The very question that you would say this to someone on a HALLUCINOGEN just pisses me off.

wow, obviously you didn't even read the fucking thread so you have no clue what you're talking about. that's not even the subject. that quote was an example of awkwardness in a discussion of one's ability to understand social norms in a an altered state of consciousness.
you, however, think this is some kind of pornographic thread where i try and trick people into showing me some free tits. ha. ha. ha.
how about you actually read before you go ahead and call people names and judge them.

my humble opinion on the matter is that if the person is likely to be offended when sober, the same will be true either...
a - while the person is intoxicated b - after the person becomes sober once again
...as for the way the act and behave while not sober, that's completely relative to the person in question and you can't really throw a hypothetical against it.
But heed everyone's warnings regardless, the absolute last thing you want is a misunderstanding afterwards. I used to be a roommate with a chick that had two fundamental problems when intoxicated (drinking/anything) in that she could never remember what did happen and worse, she remembered shit that didn't happen.
I was accused of everything from attempting to date-rape her friend at a party I left hours before said "incident occurred" to her being convinced that she heard me discussing in detail plots to kidnap and murder tourists and using some "lime-based concoction" to rapidly decompose the bodies to avoid detection.
Suffice to say, I got the fuck out of that place asap. The point is you can't have any faith in a person's perception, behavior or rational ability when their intoxicated. Always treat them with the same, if not more, respect than when they are sober and you'll be fine...in most situations.

Don't mistake my tone for a "matter-of-fact" attitude. I'm just presenting what I believe to be correct, until I'm corrected... - How Myco-Curious Prepares Coir & Compost Substrates - How Myco-Curious Builds A Bulk Humidifier - How Myco-Curious Builds An Automated Greenhouse ------------------------------------ figgusfiddus said: Keep in mind that inoculating or whatever in front of a flow hood won't help your bad substrate, your bad inoculant, your bad sterile procedure, etc. etc. etc. It's not a +3 flowhood of magic, it's just a tool.

So why'd it have to be 'show me your boobs?"
How about you don't start an antagonistic thread then get all "ohh, what the fuck?" when people question your motives?
If you were to ask anyone to show you their boobs while I was around, especially while that person was tripping, I would be pretty pissed off.
What kind of situation are you hypothetically referring to? When some girl is tripping around you and you want to know how she would react if you asked to see her breasts? I'm sure she'd be REAL FUCKING UNCOMFORTABLE! Did you need a thread of people to get that answer?
Why don't you think of a different question to better illustrate your point? Cause I don't fuckin get it...

i was just using a quote to illustrate my question, and you go fucking bonkers like i plan on doing this to somebody. i was just putting somebody in that kind of situation to help them get an idea as to what i was trying to ask so they can give me a well thought of, written answer. and i've recieved the answers that i've been looking for, but i've also recieved answers from you, and various others, who just care to judge me without even taking in consideration that this is only a question concerning one's ability to understand social norms in an altered state of consciousness. it's not like i plan on doing this to somebody.
i picked that question because it's awkward and offensive, and it's a kind of question that can get different responses depending on who you're dealing with. sure, i could have asked somebody "why are you wearing socks?" but nobody cares about that.
gee, you really have a short temper.
