The reality of living through the cold war versus the current "tension and military building" are nowhere near the same. I don't mean to belittle you, only to point out that the experience of living during the cold war is nothing compared to what you are describing as a modern cold war. Our modern day worries are nothing like the constant fear of attack, the retarded drills, the construction of bomb shelters in the back yard, the never ending propaganda, the zealous patriotism, the witch hunts, etc of the cold war. The two are as far apart as a high school football game and the superbowl.

My dad lived in Miami in the early 1960s, He used to tell me when they ran the duck and cover drills the joke at the time was to get under your table, duck, cover and kiss your ass goodbye cause if a nuke hit we'd all be screwed. Thank god nothing like that happened.

This just in.. I'm about to test the world's most powerful non-nuke bomb, putting Russia totally in the past.

And I'm about to do it in the bathroom. I'm going to need a couple more rolls of TP though
