I don't have photo's so I know that makes it hard to give an ID ,but I found clusters of what I believe to be Gymnopilus aeruginosus that I found growing on old birch logs in a dried up pond bottom.

cap color: light orange to dark orange

cap size: 1 to 4 inches in diameter. (i expect they'll get a lot bigger in a couple weeks)

Gills: light orange to medium orange (haven't taken a spore print yet)

stem: orange. bruises to dark orange/brown ,and excretes a dark orange/brown juice. stem feels kinda ''barky''

Are the gills connected to the stem? Do they go down the stem a little?

Buy or borrow a decent digital camera and take some macro photos of both young and older specimens, both the cap and the underside. It would be helpful to have some pictures of the mushrooms in their habitat.

You don't have aeruginosus.  What you should be looking for is spectabilis and junious ( ohio ).

When you find somethin man, I got a camera.

I was about to say take me to the spot and have me id it, but I just remembered you asked me to a few days ago lol .  I'll come take a look at em tomorrow and tell you if they're gyms or not if you want.
