new grower Qs

So I've been wanting to take a trip for a while now. Me and my friends tried it once but I had very little and felt very little (less then what this site describes as level 1). Because of my fears of buying them off the street or even from a friend of a friend, I'm heading the the direction of staring my own grow. I just have a couple of questions on the basics that I couldn't find in the q&a section or couldn't find enough detail. If you can answer them of atleast point me to a site I would be very happy. so here it goes
1. Does any part of growing shrooms smell, including drying? (I live in a dorm)
2. Is there any obvious signs that would be picked up by people that enter my room? and those that don't enter?
3. Is it safe to buy of a friend that "knows a friend"?
4. Is there a guide to small scale single cake growing? I've seen it in parts of guides but I want to know if there is one more specific to my circumstances.
5. How many would I have to make to get enough for me and a friend or two to reach level 2 or 3 once or twice?
6. Is there anyway to light the shrooms secretly?
7. Will growing take up lots of time? My classes are hard
8. Can i sterilize efficiently without a pressure cooker? Like boiling or steam?
9. Are there place in MI that I can buy syringes? I don't want there to be a syringe purchase in my paypal account.
10. Are spore syringes different from normal syringes?
If I have more I'll edit this post later. If I'm asking very stupid questions, I'm sorry. I'm very cautious about the drugs u

I can answer a few of your questions...
2. Is there any obvious signs that would be picked up by people that enter my room? and those that don't enter?
- Unless you have the jars sitting out in the open (which you shouldn't during mycelium growth anyways...) then no.
5. How many would I have to make to get enough for me and a friend or two to reach level 2 or 3 once or twice?
- Probably a couple of decent sized cakes...but it depends on the strain..I'm assuming your using the BRF Cake method.
6. Is there anyway to light the shrooms secretly?
- They only need light after they pin, and indirect sunlight should be adequate.
7. Will growing take up lots of time? My classes are hard
- It will take some time to inoculate and begin the whole process. But other than that not really.
8. Can i sterilize efficiently without a pressure cooker? Like boiling or steam?
- You can sterilize in a pot with steam.

i'd have to say search. buy your syringes from a site sponsor
you can do this completely secretly. but its hard in a dorm i'd imagine. i do all my grows in my closet. and my room mate doesnt even know it.

OK, so I looked at one of the sponsored sites. more questions
Which strain should I get? I saw a lo of b+ in the gallery. Is that good for beginners or does it not matter.
It said every syringe is filled with 10 cc. A syringe of B+ is $15 and a spore print is $20. Why?
I'm going to get a syringe anyway because I don't have one, but I'm assuming you can reuse them.
Also I'm assuming that I don't have to worry about loosing my money because these suppliers are on this site.
To TBags A couple cakes? Is that right? How many average size shrooms to get that effect and how many are on a cake(if I'm even using that term right.)

Try that, nice and small. Clear to let in sunlight. You can also do the same idea with a 2 liter bottle. Search.

1. Does any part of growing shrooms smell, including drying? (I live in a dorm)...Yes but not something you can smell through the bag....basically like dry/fresh shrooms smell like
2. Is there any obvious signs that would be picked up by people that enter my room? and those that don't enter? Well I would do it in a place where no one would pick up your shit and if they do know who goes into your room and beat the fuck out of em if you dont know em
3. Is it safe to buy of a friend that "knows a friend"? Depends on the person..
4. Is there a guide to small scale single cake growing? I've seen it in parts of guides but I want to know if there is one more specific to my circumstances. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHJQrsZFQdE Follow that tek
5. How many would I have to make to get enough for me and a friend or two to reach level 2 or 3 once or twice? A Mono Tub
6. Is there anyway to light the shrooms secretly? Incubated it doesnt really matter if its dark or light....people that do it dark just means that it raises the Rh(Relative Humidity) and temperature
7. Will growing take up lots of time? My classes are hard Just Sterilize your room and make it clean and spotless...When a mess is made clean it and sterilize it....Hygiene is key too....The thing about it is not to get contaminations which are virtually everywhere
8. Can i sterilize efficiently without a pressure cooker? Like boiling or steam? Yes its been proven but with a pressure cooker your 99.9% killed every living thing in there without the loss of nutrients
9. Are there place in MI that I can buy syringes? I don't want there to be a syringe purchase in my paypal account. MI is fine.... http://www.ralphstersspores.com/ is a good sponser....also www.sporeworks.com or www.spores101.com They have good feedback and will not fuck you over
10. Are spore syringes different from normal syringes? 10cc to 60cc no bigger then 10cc-20cc most of the time though

I would go with penis envy 6...there a good one ...Because most spore prints have more multi spores on them then syringes...If you had a pressure cooker you can reuse them by sterilizing them and its like brand new

I can't afford/get a hold of a pressure cooker. I know you can sterilize jars with the boiler/steam but what about syringes?

you really should read more you said that you read the facts but there are a lot of answers to your questions there and maybe look for the videos on youtube
the thing with this hobby is that if you cant find the answers you look for in the already present info you will run into a lot of troubles if you try to grow
here is a good place to starthttp://www.shroomery.org/4/Grow-Mushrooms
good luck!!

>1. Does any part of growing shrooms smell, including drying? (I live in a dorm)
Not really. Fan drying in a room with no ventilation may make the room smell like mushrooms for a while.
>2. Is there any obvious signs that would be picked up by people that enter my room? and those that don't enter?
If it is in a lockable closet or trunk, no. People have a way of stumbling across things that aren't locked up.
>3. Is it safe to buy of a friend that "knows a friend"?
In my experience, yes. I would consider it a lot safer than growing.
>4. Is there a guide to small scale single cake growing?I've seen it in parts of guides but I want to know if there is one more specific to my circumstances.
You can scale down almost any tek. You can make as few cakes as you want, and you can make your fruiting chamber as small as you want. That's all you really need.
>5. How many would I have to make to get enough for me and a friend or two to reach level 2 or 3 once or twice?
1-3 cakes, if you are successful.
>6. Is there anyway to light the shrooms secretly?
You can use a battery-operated lcd or something. Anything that can stay on for hours (up to 12) a day.
>7. Will growing take up lots of time? My classes are hard
For the scale you're looking at: an evening or two for gathering supplies, an evening for preparation and sterilization, a few hours cleaning and inoculating, an hour to construct your FC, half an hour dunking and rolling. Once they're fruiting its about ten minutes a day.
Of course you have to spend time studying mushroom cultivation before you do it And more time posting here
>8. Can i sterilize efficiently without a pressure cooker? Like boiling or steam?
With PF jars, yes.
>9. Are there place in MI that I can buy syringes? I don't want there to be a syringe purchase in my paypal account.
Most vendors take cash anonymously. Here are some reputable vendors:
http://www.shroomery.org/sponsors.php
Anyone else is a gamble.
>10. Are spore syringes different from normal syringes?
Not fundamentally, no.
Good luck in whatever you do, but I will say that I do not advise growing in a dorm. Word gets around fast in dorms, and could get kicked out of school. Like I said I would think it is safer to obtain them from a friend of a friend.

B+ is just fine for beginners I used it
It said every syringe is filled with 10 cc. A syringe of B+ is $15 and a spore print is $20. Why?
Because you can make multiple syringes with one print.
I'm going to get a syringe anyway because I don't have one, but I'm assuming you can reuse them.
Also I'm assuming that I don't have to worry about loosing my money because these suppliers are on this site.
Yes they are all very good with their customers, and you can discuss anything with them in the Sponsors Forum.

If you get a syringe from a vendor it will come sealed and sterile and ready to use.
