try sterilizing everything....put your poop, verm and shredded straw or whatever youre using into quart jars and PC them. i sterilize my verm for the casing layer as well. probably overkill but it works.

Sterilizing casing material and especially straw(which is not a casing material) will lead to more contamination problems, not less because a sterilized substrate is prime real estate for anything and everything that lands on it.
Air exchange is the way to prevent contamination in casing layers. I'd suggest upping your fresh air supply during fruiting. In addition, make sure your grow area is not on the floor. RR

Cool mist is the secret. I t produces my fresh air. When ever I have my cool mist running in a set up it will usually be about the 5th flush before any trich. appears. Now take out the cool mist and just fan and I have contams after first flush. I am a true believer in this. Don't let the lack of little fruits above my avatar fool you. Though I am no Roger Rabbit, this is a passion. My advise is tried and tested.

Are you PH balancing your casing layer?
If not, know that PH balancing your casing layer with lime, especially if peat moss is used, will greatly help fight off contams and promote mycelial growth.
