Amanita
    #7402648 - 09/12/07 09:19 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

Hello every one. Today I was at my dads house cutting some limbs off some trees that so i could pull my hotrod out of the back of the shop. Wile i was cutting i looked down and saw these very small yellow caped amanitas. I have never seen yellow ones befor, just big red and brown ones. any ways can some one tell me what type of amanita they are?

It's really difficult to be certain about yellow Amanitas without pretty thorough observations.
Don't eat them!

What part of the country (which state) are you in?

What kind of trees were nearby? Nearby means that if you cut the tree down you would be close enough that it could hit you.

Happy mushrooming!

Really? All Amanita species sold, are hunted by someone.... They are mycorrhizal, thus they are difficult if not impossible to cultivate in doors. I wouldn't say that buying mushrooms that were collected by an unknown hunter is much safer than hunting them yourself.
Unless you know nothing about mushrooms, and are unwilling to study.

I'm not extremely prudish about Amanitas but it is a bit worrisome considering the consequences involved when playing around with this genus.
Are the mushrooms supplied to these companies verified by people who are qualified to make authoritative IDs?
You practically have to jump through hoops to sell easily recognizable edible species at some farmers markets and grocery stores. Somehow I doubt this is the case with companies dabbling in the legal highs market. but who knows... ima gonna ask around.

Some better pics of the base of the stem would help. Use a digital camera on macro mode.

yah, implee, it does...it is an issue that has been gradually getting worse. I thought powersupply at first, then i thought maybe screwed up wiring (cause someone did some work i didn't have time to do my self, but should've done myself)...it handles keyboard, mouse, and speakers, but add anything else and its no good. you'd think that the powersupply would've been designed to handle what there are slots already there for. you think i should try that anyway though?

i changed nothing and it started happening but since then i've changed several things, but it was happening way before that. so i guess i need to order a new power supply, they're relatively inexpensive...not sure what i need tho. whatdo ya think?
