well they can be brown because theres a sheath that the new leaves emerge from but if they are real dark brown and shrunken and dried like the pics look then it means those shoots died. sorry

thats how the box looked that my salvia plant came in.
the plant looked like shit when i got it as well.
honestly, you'd think that with the price that some of these plants/cuts carry they would look a little better when they arrived to us.

Its not really the persons fault who charged you for the plants. My box clearly said fragile all over it... Its really the damn post offices, they literally throw them around it seems like.

there was plenty left when topped, i guess somehow it shrank down to the node..
and it wasn't freshly cut, it had plenty of time to heal, it just didn't send out new shoots because the plant was root bound and wasn't growing at all, it stayed that same size for a few weeks. mine were all the same, but the day after i transplanted they grew new shoots, i'm not dumb, i know what i'm doing.

the plant was shipped off in perfect condition, very healthy, and very well packaged:
..not my fault the post office fucks it up.

Your plant will be fine, absolutely fine. Divinatory sends quality stuff you must remember the postal service is hard on plants. Sits in a hot mail box and gets tossed around.

It doesnt even really look like that in real life lol. Looks alot different to me, in that pic it looks like a different plant with bad bad nute burn or a deficiency or somethin, something making the leaves come out deformed. But it really isnt that bad looking if you see it irl. The pink with the yellow and the shape made it look bad to me with the twisting at the end.

heres what you want to happen if the tip didn't dry out.....

the skin protects the young shoot till it is big enough and then it rips out of it slowly. sometimes they dry up and die before the new leaves have a chance to grow any

Heres how its looking now, I think the leaves are a little deformed due to getting used to new conditions.

One of the shoots really took off, the other is kinda stunted or somethin.

cool man dont worry about deformed leaves. once it starts getting bigger they won't do that. also never manually pry them apart. and put it into a little bit bigger of a pot. you don't want it to get stunted from being rootbound.
