Peyote var. caespitosa
    #7400311 - 09/12/07 11:14 AM (16 years, 4 months ago)

i went with a friend on Sunday to a Cacti fair in Vienna.
there were a lot of cacti and succulents and my eyes became very bright when i saw them.there were also our pychoactive friends exhibited.

some time ago i was looking for lophophora williamsii var.caespitosa-
this is a special peyote strain which produces a lot of babies.
this strain would be a good decision if someone is planning a trip in a short period of years :sun:

fortunetely there was this strain at the fair and it was fairly cheap.i only paid 3 Euro for these babies (see the pix).

my friend bought 21 san pedro with a height of approx. 15 cm.
and he only paid 9 Euro i.e. 1 Euro for 3 san pedro and he had bought some the earlier day

my conclusion: cacti fairs are extremly cheap-you would pay at least 50 Euro if you buy a peyote of this size(related to my baby) at an online vendor.
this was my first and hopefully not my last visit there.i can´t await the next one in spring.i will make some pix for you-sure :tongue2:

peace

nice! have you tasted yours? i have heard from "others" that this form doesn't seem as strong. a regular williamsii is disgustingly bitter, but the few caespitosa that were tasted were almost fruity with no sugar.

Yeah kadakuda they are supposed to b low in mescaline but contain all the other alks so u could eat caespitose & boost it with some trich for the mescaline.

no, i haven´t tasted my cactus yet :crazy2:
honestly i can´t imagine that caespitosa doesn´t contain as much actives as the original peyote.
i talked to my friend about this topic-he is familiar with a lot of plants and studies pharmacy.
he answered that caespitosa was only a mutation and the stories about a less potent caespitosa were only fairytales.

nevertheless i will proof that soon for my own.i hope i bought a killer-strain

Ask & u shall recieve:

Cactus alkaloids of Lophophora williamsi var caespitosa. Fujita, Mitiiti; Itokawa, Hideji; Inoue, Junko; Nozu, Yoshimasa; Goto, Natsue; Hasegawa, Kazuko. Tokyo Coll. Pharm., Tokyo, Japan. Yakugaku Zasshi (1972), 92(4), 482-9. CODEN: YKKZAJ ISSN: 0031-6903. Journal written in Japanese. CAN 77:48674 AN 1972:448674 CAPLUS

Abstract

From L. williamsi var caespitosa, pellotine, anhalidine, anhalonidine, and anhalamine were obtained as phenolic alkaloids, and lophophorine as a nonphenolic alkaloid. A kind of betaine-type yellow components, I, II, III, and IV, were isolated. A similar type of tautomerism was found in I and IV, and they had pKa 6.0 and 6.5 resp. A different type of tautomerism was found in II and III. II had pKa1 5.6 and pKa2 10.9, and III had pKa1 6.7 and pKa2 11.4.

From 1 of Trouts books:

These by habermann 1978
mescaline 0.701%(+-0.085) but he doesnt know if its dry weight
Pellotine 0.300%(+-0.095) " "
then these from that japanese paper all %wet weight
pellotine 0.01%
Anahalidine 0.005%
Anahalonidine 0.001%
Anahalamine detected
lophophorine detected
apparently they did not find any mescaline but trout mentions distrusting the translators accuracy, plants were grown in japan.

But apparently the japs were looking at grafted plants, Im afraid I think thats as good as ur gonna get. Lots more work needs to b done on all lophs & trichs too.

If u can find the paper let us know.

@shruman

thx...actually my friend told me that grafted peyote are less potent and sometime show no potency.
i will look for the paper or it would be better to make some research of my own.
my friends do have labs so that would be no problem.

i am only going on the tastes of the 2 (my personal cacti...seed grown not grafts)....i cannot say for sure either way....it doesn't make any sense that it would be less, but there are lots of things that could cause this and that....but it doesn't even seem known what causes mescaline production.
