Green Mold and your perlite looks a bit to wet in this picture.

A bit too wet? I can see the waterline. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to just have the perlite wet, like straining it, then putting it in. That is way too wet.
As for the mold, I dunno maybe you got spores in your house.

Yeah man, rinse the perlite. Drain for 20 minutes. You want it damnp. pH balance and buffer your casing and pasteurize it at 160 to 170 and mold will be nonexistent in the first few flushes as long as you do everything else right. Check your temps as well for incubating and fruiting. And get alot of air exchange going without jeapordizing humidity.
Oh yeah and you may want to do some more reading.

Theyre just spawn bricks you buy from mm.org. When they come in the post there myc alreayd growing on them mostly. The pics below are the brick as i took it out the fridge, no signs of green shit. It seems to come just as the shroomz are about to poke theyr ehead up out the myc.
Ive drained the perlite it is damp as its been soaking for a couple hours, all air vents are shut and its at 23/24C.
Theres a humidifer going in, so the compnay who sold it said the vents dont need to be open until the 1st mushrooms appear, how often do you think i should open them? I dwef cant leave htem open cuz i get those mites flying round my kit.
Heres a few pics of my setup:

THanks for the help you really are helping. My perlite was swimming!!!

he must live in the UK or something where it's legal to get live cultures in the mail... it's 1000 ml of spawn cased and covered in an aluminum loaf tray.
Chronic777: I suggest reading all that you can on here and actually trying to produce a "spawn brick" yourself. You seem to be missing very very key information on the myco-life cycle, and I can only assume it's because you haven't read up enough and because you don't have the first hand experience of actually doing all the work you are paying someone else to do. No only is it way more fun to be involved from start to finish (spore or LC to fruit), you also LEARN what is actually happening with your mushies as they grow. plus you will appreciate the end result that much more.
well with that said, here's my advice
1. get the FC off the floor, RR will tell you that 99% or something of contams live within the first two feet from the ground up. 2. Strain your perlite, no standing water... (check that sounds like you already did) 3. Keep conditions as near optimal (rH, temp, FAE) as possible.
If you do all this it should let your sub. flush a few times before the green takes hold, like someone above said. If you are still getting the green after all this, then more than likely it was contamed when it arrived at your house. All the more reason to do this yourself.
If you want success in this endeavor, I implore you to do everything yourself. Not only will you learn how the shit grows, you will have complete control over every aspect of your grow, since you would be the one doing it. It's not as hard as you might think, and you probably could have produced the "spawn brick" yourself for 1/4th of the price you paid (assuming you have a PC)
All in all, I would say do it yourself next time, because I'm thinking they arrived with the contams. If you opened the box and the brick was fully co.lonized and you put it right in the FC, you shouldn't have gotten green that quick. Sending a colonized chunk of mycellium through the mail doesn't seem like a very sterile way of getting yourself to that point, it seems sketchy to me, I would think it would be bound to catch something while going all that way.
peace!

this sounds cool, i would liek to be able to do that, can you direct me to how i can learn all this on one page?
I have grown from a syringe before, wher ei inject it into some woodchip stuff then it takes 8 weeks to grow.

First you need to throw that casing away. Thats toast.
The green is going to overtake any MYC that tries to grow.

your humidity is waaaaaay to high im betting, a casing that big in a terrarium that small probably shouldn't have any pearlite, all that moisture must have turned your poor brick into a brothel of trich.

Do your self a favor and learn how to make your own "Spawn Brick"
Don't buy crappy pre made stuff, and learn how and why mushrooms grow and how to create all this stuff cheaper and better on your own.
Learn how to pasteurize properly and all that good stuff.
Also I bet your house now has Trich spores all over it. If you get another one of these spawn bricks, grow it in another room or another house. You will need to take the time to clean the shit out of that room now, to help prevent future contam.

That kit was 119.19 Euros. That's about $165 American. Wow.
That could've bought a good PC and a lot of supplies.

yeah, for that much money, you could have easily bought everything you needed to grow forever. Aside from substrates and other such materials that are expended upon use, that is.
The point is, you got ripped, royally. Stick around on here long enough, have a bit of patience, do a lot of reading, and one day you'll be growing ten times the amount of casings for a quarter of the cost.
