between flushes?
    #7399479 - 09/12/07 04:40 AM (16 years, 4 months ago)

this is my first time casing and although i didn't have a great pinset i did have some really thick mushies growing with wbs, wheat straw and cased with peat. verm. and calsi-sand. I'm pretty sure my first flush is done. Ive heard of a couple different methods to do between flushes but i would like to know what most of you do?
thanks

mist water onto the casing layer until it cant hold anymore. you want to stop before you have water standing on the casing layer.

does that have to be done immediately or could it wait a couple days?

sooner the better. you can wait a few days, but never let the casing layer dry out. in addition to being a contamination barrier, it also provides all the moisture the fruit bodies use to grow.
