Smoked Pot (including a good bit of wicked hash) for over tens year (actually closer to 15) .. not just daily, but for breakfast lunch, dinner and desert. In that time I spent 5 years playing the teaching guitar 18 hours per day, playing in several bands, 2 years as a sales rep (nothing like a joint on the road !), and 5 years building a business that now has over 2000 clients .. and about a year living in a tent in the bush (that was the best bit).
I don't think I have any negative long term effect from Pot, I think the mental stresses of life have more of a negative affect. I doubt I could have done all I have done (or would have) without it. For me it's like a light bulb in my head.
I've done mushrooms about a dozen times, so far no negative effects that I can see. I havn't been into mushrooms as long as pot though.
Everyone is different though.

Been using psychedelics since '95.
Can't say that it never affected my life, I had some control issues with acid that prompted me to walk away from all psychedelics for a few years. Unfortunately I just replaced it with drinking, which started a rather dark chapter.
Now I've been using psychedelics again for the past 4 years, haven't drank in nearly 3 years, and smoke pot every day. I'm 27, have a stable job, no debt, no wife, no horse, no mustache.

6 years. Since I was 18.

I'm at around 18 years of use. LSD/shrooms well over 500 times. I took a serious approach to these substances as well, researching them, documenting my use etc. I have used them recreationally , ritually, and as therapy. I feel I can document the profoundly positive effect of these chemicals on my life. I hold a Ph.D, an professorship, and have published several articles and a book. I feel very self-actualized. On the whole, I can say watching my friends over the past 15-20 years, those who were/are trippers, have not had any long-term damage.
And yes, I had a baaad trip, but that bad trip was an object lesson in what was wrong in my life that needed to be altered to ensure long term happiness.

Smoked weed at 13 for my first time, became a habit at 15. Found coke after that and finally dropped acid for my first time last Thanksgiving break, haven't looked back since.

LSD - 15 years
But never in a crazy "every week" or even every month kind of way. In fact there was a gap of about 8 years in teh middle I think, just circumstantial. I was busy living life elsewhere not really thinking about psychedelics much.
I woudl say LSD affects me positively, its inspirational and rjuvenating.
HAvign said that one aquaintence from school did flip out and IMO it was a cross between heightened drug usage and an overbearing father.
I know a family who have been doing mushrooms for about four or five decades.
I think pot, shrooms, acid, are all potentially very positive drughs but there can be harm in considering they have no negatives. They can have no negatives for SOME people but for some (Sid Barret) they can be bad.

I know my dad has used lsd weekly for a long time back in the 70's and 80's along with mushrooms and cactus occasionally. Unfortunately he also used everything else under the sun and it was the drink that really stuffed things up but if anything it was the psychedelics that kept his head so clear and now he's fine.
Nowadays he uses cactus occasionally and marijuana daily and he always talks about psychedelics as the only class of drugs that don't have that potential to really wreck your life (Assuming you don't have predispositions to mental illness's or anything like that).

The first time I tried a psychadelic was when I was 14 years young. But that was the last time until I moved out of my parents house and started growing my own. By time I grew my first shroomies I was 20. So I have been using psychadelics for about 2 years now.
My psychadelic use varies quite a bit. Sometimes I will go months doing at least once every two weeks. But then there are the times when I won't trip for a few months. I do believe that I am different but not in a bad way at all.

Oh about 20 years off and on, some LSD, mostly shrooms. Pot for 24 years around a couple times a week on average (well a lot more 20 years ago).
A great house, family, highly successful job etc. A good successful life. But tripping is not a priority for. A few times a year, with doses ranging from 1 to 5 grams.
Mentally I feel very sharp just as well as some of my comrades at work who are the same age yet the hardest drug they have done their whole life is caffeine.
One of the worse drugs out their for you is Alcohol. While I enjoy a good drink, only in moderation. Heavy drinking can shrink your brain. Also as you get older it is important to stay fit. Health has always been a priority to me. That is why I like the organic substances like weed and Shrooms - but both in moderation. The key thing is yes you can enjoy recreational use for a lifetime in moderation with out taking a toll on you body and mind.
Albert Hoffman, the discoverer of LSD tripped many times up into his 90's. He's still alive at 101.
Tim Leary didn't have his first trip until age 40, and lived into his Mid 70s and was quite sharp at the end - Prostate cancer was probably not caused by psychedlics anyway.
Enjoy.
