Sure, it can be used outdoors. I've heard of huge mushrooms that were the result of being able to grow outdoors in their natural enviroment.

I'm very happy to see you are using Kelp in your compost. I started using kelp for growing my organic Med-Pot and was so impressed that I started my Orchids on Kelp. I could see an immediate improvement in the orchids as well as a continuous improvement over a the last six months. I have been drawn to the idea of using it in my compost as it is one of the most nutritious organics around, containing every element known. I didn't have the courage to try it, but now you have given us the secret. You're very lucky to have such a close at hand source. I have to pay $14. for a little bag. It's actually less expensive just to buy your compost. As you know I already got one bag of it last week, so I will be trying it out as soon as the syringes are ready.

Ya, kelp is great and there is tons of it on the SporeLab beach. It contains many vitamins and minerals and is know to increase yields and speed germination.
