OK. I'm asking about the way RR does LC's with a grain jar and pure water. I was curious since you can get an extremely thick solution that can be diluted into apx. 100 syringes...I was curious to know 2 things.
1. Can I shake, extract, let recolonize and then store this grain jar in the fridge for months like I can with a honey lc to use as a master?
2. Instead of diluting, can I just use the initial highly concentrated solution to inject more grain like a standard LC inoculation, in hopes of getting more inoculation points than with a normal LC for optimal colonization speeds? (Logic thinking tells me I can, but with this hobby...I am never surprised that what you think will work is actually off by a hair and you end up with nothing.)

I'm not RR, but I have done this.
1) Jars I've done this with come back strong. I spawn or case at that point, I don't save them- but they are perfectly fine jars. Be sure to suck up all the extra water, you don't want them to get funky.
2) I use that stuff full strength to inoc more jars and/or some real LC. It's like g2g, only you don't have to open the jars.

You can harvest liquid mycelium from the rye or wbs several times. After shaking the jar of grains to break them up, you can pour nearly a full pint of sterilized water into the jar, then shake again. Since there are nutrients in the grain juice/mycelium, you only need to pull a small amount of this solution into each syringe. Finish filling the syringe with sterilized water, and the mycelium will grow into it, expanding by several factors within a week. RR

That clears that up for me also. I am going to start do LCs this way as soon as I can get some Morel and portabelo cultures. I am going to make a huge outdoor morel patch for my grandfather. The soils is being preped now and in spring it will be inoculated.
