Cyanescens and cubensis

I've tried both and cyanescens seems to be slightly a bit more "clear" and smooth. Has anyone else experienced this?
Chemically are they the same? (based on my readings they are except cyanescens have higher potency) Do they give the same high? (I'm having difficulty differentiating the effects of cubensis and cyans)

I've heard many people say that the high seems clearer. I haven't experienced it myself, but you're definitely not alone.

Psilocybe Cyans or Panaeolus Cyans? There's definitely a difference.

I'm assuming he's comparing Pan Cyans vs Psilocybe Cubes in relative doses. As in, if you measured out an equal dose of each, would the Pan Cyan trip be clearer?

Pans in relative doses. I noticed that with the cyans I was able to speak and think clearer.

my last shroom trip was with 24 grams fresh Panaeolus Cyanescens. I had a Shulgin +4 experience and it was noticeably different from the 100+ cube trips I have made in my life. It was indeed a very clear experience, as if I was given a glimpse at the true reality underlying our world. It was very profound, beautiful and emotional.
It reminded me a bit of LSD, but in a shrooms kinda way. Hope that makes sense... Anyway I totally loved the trip, probably the best shroom trip of my life. I think I found my favorite shrooms.

I just read that Panaeolus Cyanescens contain serotonin while cubes don't (wikipedia & other sources). This could explain subjective differences in the experience. I don't know if serotonin is active when eaten, but if it is you would probably notice this.

Donviliet! You're right, it is a bit like acid, mescaline actually! But you're right with the "in a shrooms kinda way" Weird, because basically their chemicals are the same. hmmmm. Let's try to understand why. How about others like tropicalis, or baeocytsis, or other non cubensis?

Definately not the same high. I have had a lot of trips on cubensis that have been difficult to handle mentally at times (hard to let go), where as my experiences with cyanescens and particularily azurescens have had a more laid back, dream-like quality to them.

I agree with the fact that ps. cyanescens produces a 'cleaner high'. I find cubes to be a lot more of a mindfuck with a more uncomfortable body load.
With cyans, I find the visuals to be significantly more colourful and 'layered', slightly resembling those of dmt. The body load is more comfortable as well.
As a result of these differences, I find both species produce a different experience.
With the cubes I often find myself having trips with a lot of introspection. I think the way they ground me even at lower doses helps me look inwards.
Both species are great for their time and place

Serotonin does not cross the blood-brain barrier.
This table says there is no difference in baeocystin content relative to psilocin + psilocybin.
