Still possible to save it right? or would that be like stem rot.. Which i still think that might be savable by cutting off the rot correct? Cacti seem pretty hardy to me, I havent gotten my hands on any yet though

yes i have preformed surgery on a few of my cacti when i was a noob and watered too much and they lived through it no problem and still are missing a chunk ,other cacti i had to cut the roots and the tip off because the tip is usually the first think to go from my experience
good thing i haven't had to deal with that in a while

I'm very worried about root rot on my rare cacti...
if your talking about your true blue 100% pure non-hybridized genetically superior T. peruvianus, u need to wait for it to have roots before it can get root rot lol squeeze test teo, squeeze test.

yea i was moving some stuff around last night so i will have room for some of my new loph's and i agree, so i am going to use those lights for salvia, coca and the cacti/grafts etc will be going under the 400 watt hps like they were last year, when they were under it last year it seemed that they flowered all the time, i even had super small ones flowering
also after spending well over 1K on them and some up to 350 usd i want them to get the best
hmmm speaking of flowering i have about 20 different fruit sacks full of seeds that i have been waiting to pluck off :-)) i got like 20-30 seeds out of the last one :-)

something about HPS that lophs adore man... mine have been under a 600w all year and have flowered and fruited continuously
mine average between 10 & 15 seeds per pod, sometimes 20 but not often... im lazy to help with pollination though... but still ive harvested well over 1000 seeds in the last 6 months
